RE: What Could be wrong?
How does a new battery pack help your acceleration?? Your Himoto is nitro, right? The only way more voltage would aid in acceleration would be in an electric vehicle. The turning on the other hand would definitely improve with more voltage. More muscle for the servo... |

Hmmmmm, I don't think it could make that much difference. It takes very little to no effort to open/close the carb. Obviously 6 fresh volts will make any servo move better than low power though, so I'm sure when you pop that freshly charged pack in there it performs fantastically. I know what you're getting at Blue, I just don't think the difference would be as noticeable in the throttle/brake servo as in the steering... Don't hate me because I'm beautiful ;)
On a lighter note - my Futaba 2PH transmitter/receiver with one S3003 servo and one S3010 servo just arrived! Yay! :) I also got the MIP Traxxas replacement clutch springs for when mine inevitably fails. |
RE: What Could be wrong?

Thanks Greg That sucks that you had to buy the Traxxas clutch to get a $1.50 spring Greg, but from what I've read, you're not the only one... This should help - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUR89&P=7 and you get 2 for $2.89. Of course you'll have to pay s/h charges, so you should probably look into getting something else while you're there. I couldn't see paying more for s/h than the actual product... lol |
RE: What Could be wrong?
Thanks for the web page. Yeah I am prolly going to get the Futaba radio also. I am currently looking at clutch bells also I know there has to be something out there we can use. Popper has a pretty good one I guess ,but I am going to look for something alittle closer to the redcat set up.

RE: What Could be wrong?
I have the mip spring, its a little hard to get on, very tight and the clasps are kinda weak, i'd stick to the 4146x or 4146

It offers a bit more top end than stock, and seeing it's steel, it's much more durable than aluminum... |
RE: What Could be wrong?
Thanks for the infor. HPI SAvage cb 18t got it. Thanks again . What the hell wont hurt anything just to try it out right.
|
RE: What Could be wrong?
the hpi clutch bell is definately the way to go, i would stick to the traxxas spring though, i wasnt happy with the mip spring.
|
RE: What Could be wrong?
Did you get that set up yet? How many teeth is the stock Xp clutch bell anyway? I have not really looked at that.
|
RE: What Could be wrong?
i did the same setup popper did on his and it so far seems to work good, only put a tank thru it, the 2 speed isnt working though but its the shifter piece, have to see whats wrong.
|
RE: What Could be wrong?
the stock 2 speed is 16/21
The hpi is 17/22 A little bit more top end but you'll hardly notice it. Working great so far. |
