TORNADO XP DOESNT SEEM TO SHIFT?
:)Hello everybody i had a ? my tornado xp doesnt seem to shift when it gets high rpms. I turned the shifter one half turn ccw and it still didnt seem to shift. I just got done turning it back one half turn cw. Does anyone no where the factory shift turns on the grub screw are? i guess i should have not messed with it. Other than that it is running like a panther (lol). Could having the gears meshed to tight cause it to not shift? Just a thought. All the pieces are still on it. yesterday i shot some wd-40 on the shift arm but didnt help, could someone help me out cause i like to hear it shift (lol).

Hi I was told 2 3/4 - 3 1/2 . I started at 3 and had to go a litte further out . I'm sure you know about using locktight on the grub screw.
Mine shifts perfectly now. Good luck |
RE: TORNADO XP DOESNT SEEM TO SHIFT?
you might have wedged the spring or the ball. take out the tranny, unscrew the grub, shake out the spring and ball. clean with break clean real good. oil is bad there it atracts dirt and it makes the ball stick. reasemble, screw the grub back in till flush.
that should work, i did this all the time when i ran it in the dirt. hope it helps |

Is there a way u dont have to take out the tranny to take the spring and ball out?

if you lose the ball(very small btw) or the spring your screwed.

Make sure you don't turn the screw to far out as it will fall out and you will loose the ball and spring. So what I did ws tighting it all the way down so you have no shift and then make little turns and run the car for 5 min aleast and then do it again tell you get it to shift. Okay?
