Any modifications necessary? Is it good to break hem in how traxxas recommends?

RE: Good engine

im not sure how traxxas says to break theirs in but im sure it wouldnt hurt the motor b/c all these motors are pretty close design wise.

The OS .18 is a direct fit, but if I'm not mistaken you'll want the one with the standard crank, not the short crank.

http://www.rcsuperstore.com/product_p/osmg11860.htm - Short crank

See the difference?

Zack, you need to check your information. I'm the second guy who followed your advice and bought that engine. It's got the wrong crankshaft. And like the other guy, I also had to spend an extra $40+ to get the correct shaft.

Cdextreme,

Make sure you order the OS .18 engine with the standard shaft.

Also note that the link to the engine with the standard crank does NOT have a pullstarter. And you can't attach a pullstart assembly without replacing the crankshaft with one that is built to engage a pullstarter.
