New Problem!
ok so it was runnin fine and suddenly the motor died. i didnt try to start it back up and when i started to roll it towards the drive way the wheels locked up for a second and the motor turned over. now every time i roll it it turns the motor over, sounds like something is stuck maybe. i havent started it again in fear of breaking something. its never done this before, anyone ever experiance this?

RE: New Problem!
Check your clutch spring, clutch shoes and clutch bell bearings.
|
RE: New Problem!
sounds like the clutch shoes are melted to the flywheel
|
RE: New Problem!
if so, thats a new one
|
RE: New Problem!
I've never had the shoes melt on 1/10th but I've melted plenty of them on 1/8th scale, that's why i switched to aluminum.
|
RE: New Problem!
oh yeah, on 1/8 the nylon shoes melt but very rarely on a 1/10, stock engine redcat!!

RE: New Problem!
I don't know, the VX 3.0 isn't a bad engine, I've sold a bunch of them latelly, replaced a few T-maxx engines with them and a cen truck today, no one ever comes back complaining about it, usually they're pretty happy with the preformance, wheelies a T-maxx no problem, that short Traxxas torque pipe takes great advantage of the torque power of the VX. But ya, on a redcat with the stock pipe, I doubt it's melted clutch shoes, thinking more like broken spring.

RE: New Problem!
oh I have specaily with the new white shoes. Dont care for them at all.

RE: New Problem!
Oh realy, that's good to know, haven't had anyone come back with them melted yet, but I'll be on the look out for that. Good lookin out.

RE: New Problem!
man if theres one thing ive been thrilled with since i started this hobby its the quality of the people on this forum. I dont know what id do without your guys advice. how much do you think this ones gunna cost me? cant go to the hobby shop till monday :( man this truck is cool but its turning into a money pit. i could have bought a Revo by now :) 330 for the truck and about 200 bucks on extra stuff and replacment parts. i sure hope once i get this fixed it works good for a little while without to much trouble. Btw i got my brakes working good, only back brakes hooked up atm just cause its fun, had to get a heavy duty servo arm for the high torque servo and its works good.

RE: New Problem!
I repair about 5 or 6 Revo's quite a few times during the year (customer revo's) and your problems are not that far different than theres[&o] or any of them. The difference is that the price of parts is quite a bit more for the big name brands[:o]

RE: New Problem!
Had the exact thing happen day before yesterday. Took the Clutch Bell off and the front bearing fell apart as I slit the Clutch Bell off the output shaft. Changed the bearing and all was good again. Clutch shoes seem to wear fine. Look at the Clutch Bell bearings.

I am amazed it could wheelie a tmaxx, its hard for me to get my tmaxx to wheelie with an .18 cvrx in it. |

ORIGINAL: Clermont Hobby oh I have specaily with the new white shoes. Dont care for them at all. hey brother, what exactly is a specaily? lol do you mean this: http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/s...-spring/Detail if so, its an excellent set up, the spring and shoes are perfect and last a long time, better than the traxxas 4146x since you can only really use the spring not the shoes or do you mean the new stock setup that comes on the redcats? |
RE: New Problem!
got a new bearing in, seems to work fine now!
