RE: Diff fluids Just the basics
I have 3 Earthquake 3.0's and me and my boys run them on a track withhard packed red clay with good traction. What's the recommendation for this type vehicle in these conditions. I experience pretty hard push in the corners right now and would like to loosen up the rear just a little. Also the steering under excelleration is very hard to control. I've tried to reduce the over steering by reducing the steering travel on the transmitter but still must be very very smooth with throttle control or the front end wants to dart right or left. Pretty dissapointed that Redcat would install these diffs dry but now that I know I would like to learn to tune these to my favor. Thanks for the help. I love learning new secrets of speed and control on these trucks.

RE: Diff fluids Just the basics
Well i race on hard pack red clay with great traction I found that 3,000 in the front 10,000 in the center and 7,000 in the rear has worked best for me in the diffs. I think that this can change with the type of driving style everybody driving style is different.

Cool! thanks for the recommendations. Looks like I will be headed to the LHS tomorrow and pick up some oil. I'm getting the trucks ready to get some track time this coming week so it will be great to see the difference in performance. I also just found a good article on a website called www.rc411.com regarding diff oils so I'll do some studying tonight.
Merry Christmas!! |

RE: Diff fluids Just the basics
How full should the diffs be? Thanks in advance.
|
RE: Diff fluids Just the basics
They should be full all the way up with just a lil room left to tighten your screws down without any fluid leaking out. But the diffs should be full.
