Avalanche vs LST2?
I have been looking at the Avalanche online and since I have never seen one in person I was wondering how it would compare to a Losi LST2 in the size department and if it is comparable in power and if the weight is close the same. My friend has a LST2 with Big Joe wheels and just pushes me around everywhere when he runs it and want something to mess with him back.

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I will have one in the store next week you can stop in and check it out. This will be my first one in.
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I will have to come and check it out. If I like it I do not know yet how I am going to come up with the money to pay for it without my wife getting mad but we shall see. hmm.....[sm=idea.gif]

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
The Avalanche is amazing truck. I highly recommend it. I have but mine through hell and it's still not broken any parts.
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I would say that if you get an Avalanche ur friend won't catch you to push you around!
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
He cannot catch me anyways with what I have now but we try to stay close for better racing like I will slow down if I get too far ahead and stuff like but when we bump each other I get thrown around like a ragdoll. Just looking to get something comparable to run with him and have more fun.
Does anyone know how much it weighs in pounds? His is about 13 pounds or so and that I what I am hoping the avalanche is and just as big. |
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
The Avalanche will still come out on the short end of the stick against the LST because of weight and the LST's 2 speed tranny. The 2 speed is a stump puller down low!

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I wonder if it comes with the same 10 tooth clutch bell as the monsoon. If it does it should be geared pretty low then. I guess I will have to wait and see when I go the hobby shop.
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
Yes it comes with the same 10t clutch bell. There will be an 12t and 14t available in a week or so.
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
Hey nick, I spoke to you about a week ago about changing the diff fluid in my monsoon I bought from clermont hobby. Well I did change it to what you recommended and wanted to say thanks for the help and WOW what a difference! Also if you are running the stock tires on yours, change the to proline crimefighters, they are awsome on that truck. Hope to get those clutch bells soon. I keep hearing they are coming out in a week or so but none ever show up. Anyways the different diff fluid calmed the monsoon down some anyways from all the wheel spin so I could wait a little longer for the clutch bells.

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I already put a 12 tooth clutchbell on my Monsoon with a 50 tooth spur!!!!! Runs great now!
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
Where did you get the 12 tooth from?????
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I drilled the chassis, used the top part of the motor mount, and installed a Losi 12 tooth Muggy clutchbell. I used a Kyosho 50 tooth spur gear. It has much better top end now! I can't believe they ever thought of that chicken necked 10 tooth @##$$!
The truck is definitely close but different than Kyosho...... I am still looking for cheap alternative parts cause I'm not paying Redcat prices for replacements...... that's where they're trying to make the money! Hey! Everyone's gotta make some money though! |
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
DARN!! I thought you might have gotten one of the new clutch bells. I really do want to drill my chassis and modify anything that I do not have too and am trying to wait it out till they make the one I need. Have you changed you diff lube yet? If not you should. I posted a thread on here when I did it and its amazing. It accelerates alot better now and does not wind out as quick as before so I can hold of a little longer till the right clutch bell comes out. If you have any pics I would like to see them though. You never know I might get a wild hair up my ***** and modify it!

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
Hey Nick, I see something about changing Diff fluids out. Anyone explaine that any further , I have a AVALANCHE, what would work better in the Diff Case?? Also other than the Clutch Bell due out Monday with the 12 or 14 Teeth, is there any other Brand Name or Part number I could use just the same?? Can I leave the same clutch Bell on the AVALANCHE and just change the Teeth out??
|
RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
I put 5-7-3 in my Monsoon. It works very well. I am sure it would work just as well in the Avalanche as it does in the Monsoon. They are shipping me the remainder of my parts order tomorrow and they told me that the new 12t and 14t clutch bells would be in there along with our long awaited brushless system.

RE: Avalanche vs LST2?
its the weight of the oil in the differnetals, 5 in the front, 7 in the middle and 3 in the rear, different companies use different numbers suck as 5 may be 5,000 somewhere else.
