Hurricane XP or PRO

I've owned a Tornado BB forawhile now, and learned a ton about them. I'm looking to upgrade and the Hurricanes look like awesome buggies. The only question is which one XP or PRO. I know there is about a $100.00 difference in the cost, but what are you really gaining. i'm sure the Pro is built more durable, but depending on what you do with it, will you need it. Any Hurricane owners out there have any input? What are the drawbacks of buying a Hurricane, if any?

Thx.
Wolv.

I would go with the xp. The pro has to much aluminum that you won't need. Plus it is lighter than the pro and way better for racing in my book.

If you like to hop things up then get the Pro...............its about $150.00 cheaper to get all those parts like that.............if you just want to jam them get the XP:D the Hurricane is twice the buggy as the Tornado[:-]

I agree with nick. If you want to race it on a track dont get the pro.

the xp comes stock with the .28 sh. That will be ok . If you plan on racing in sanction races, then you will have to goto a .21.

I take it, the .21 is smaller. Probably regulation size for most races?

Yes smaller and alot more tracks run .21 for that class of buggy and if I'm not mistaken, R.O.A.R. runs the 1/8th buggy class with .21 engines. If I'm wrong please someone correct me. BUT, it depends on what .21 you get, if your planning on racing you need to get a .21 like the STS MKII it was designed by Rick Brake from R&B Mods and it was designed specifically for racing with buggies, his team cars are running it Or you can go with a novarossi or something like that, you would not be unhappy with either. Size isn't everything on the track anyway.

alot of time a .21 will be better than anything bigger since a good one will have higher rpm output, so it will be snappier and better fuel mileage.

the vspec (the most popular .21) and the vg by os are good. My son runs the osvg in his hurricane and it rips.

I was pretty quick that sunday I was there. I was going to ask, why did you change it out to a smaller motor?

to me, the 21's are much better for the buggies and also its legal lol... Hopefully my track will have sanctioned races soon so I want him to be the bomb. lol
