Volcano SV problem
So i took my truck out today and after about 3 mins it just rolled to a stop even though i was on the gas. Now when i pick it up and hold it and give it gas the tires turn and everything is good. When its on the ground though you can pin it out and it wont budge. Thought maybe it was the clutch but the spring is good and like i said it works fine when the wheels arent touching the ground. any advice? please help....

RE: Volcano SV problem
sounds like the grub screws on the drive cups, the drive cups are what the dogbones go into, front, rear and wheels, check out the screw thats in recessed in the cups.

RE: Volcano SV problem
also check the slipper clutch. The purple or silver nut on the spur gear. It might be too loose. So when under a load, it slips. Just an idea.

RE: Volcano SV problem
ah, nice one bro, i forgot about that, nice call
|
RE: Volcano SV problem
where is the slipper clutch? I'll check the grub screws too
|
RE: Volcano SV problem
Its on the gear that comes in contact with the clutchbell. You will see a bigger gear with a smaller one on the other side of it and a nut with a spring. Tighten that nut. That puts more pressure incase it is slipping.

RE: Volcano SV problem
thanks bro, will let you guys know if i get her going
|
RE: Volcano SV problem
no problem. Let us know. I would guess the nut is loose.

RE: Volcano SV problem
so i think i know the prob. i bought some non redcat drive cups and they were round all the way instead of the flat spot on the redcat ones. so they spin freely. so i guess i need to order some new drive cups

RE: Volcano SV problem
thanks guys, feel kinda stupid cause that was the only part i didnt check. well it was a blast for the 3 minutes my buddy was hammering on it. he got it to stand up and rode a wheelie for about 5 feet, wish i would have had the camera cause it was sick.

RE: Volcano SV problem
what type of engine, clutch bell, and trans do you have that made it wheelie?
|
RE: Volcano SV problem
all stock, only thing i did was put the front shock mounts on the lower most outer hole and the back in the upper most inner hole makes it look like a trophy truck. really it was a compression wheelie, he came off a little hill and hit the throttle and it brought the nose right up.

RE: Volcano SV problem
Ehroof got his volcano to wheely. He used a SH .18 engine, a torque pipe, and a 14t CB (i think it's 14).

RE: Volcano SV problem

RE: Volcano SV problem

|
RE: Volcano SV problem
i need the those and hex's. the hex's are torn up where the other brand axles werent holding them on tight
|
RE: Volcano SV problem
that is all changing. I have 2 people assigned to it now. I had to hire more people for the store so things are getting better and better.
