Fail safe
does anyone use a failsafe for their car? If you do what is a good one?

RE: Fail safe
Venom makes a good fail safe and they are pretty cheap if you shop around!

RE: Fail safe
I had a failsafe on my car and did not like what it did. If a slight glitch happens theh throttle went back to neutral and did NOT work again until turned the reciever pack off then back on again. PITA and removed it.

RE: Fail safe
I kept smashing my truck into walls (and other things) at full speed when my batteries ran out, so I acutally took the plung and bought a Futaba Fasst Radio system. This is kind of expensive, but in my mind it is well worth it. Waiting for parts and spending money on repairs in the long run is fairly costly too! The radio system has a built in fail safe among tons of other great features. I found mine on ebay for about $180 to my door. Not sure if that is an option for you or not, but if so, I would highly recommend it. :D

RE: Fail safe
I do not, however, my radio has an LCD that displays remaining voltage and it also has an alarm that sounds when it reaches below 9 volts... since I use rechargable NiH they always run down before my hump pack because I bought a quality pack and charger therfore I never worry much about not having a fail safe but on the other hand.... $20 is cheap insurance to save a $300 rc car
I have heard alot of good things bout the venom fail safe, but dont get the one with the temp sensor! |

RE: Fail safe
I use a failsafe from redcat or himoto. ALL you do is hook it up between TH servo and RX set your brake where you want it to engage and push the set switch. works great, mine is set for full brake. TX signal loss, RX batt low. findem for 14.99 at exportpro.biz I think.
