Which Redcat electric?
I'm a first time RC buyer who has pretty much decided to buy a electric Redcat. The only problem is that I don't know if the buggy, truggy or truck will be better for me. Is there much of a difference between them other than looks? I'm looking for something that will perform well in my back yard that is mostly grass.
Thank you! |
RE: Which Redcat electric?
The truck and truggy will perform alot better than a buggy off road. The truck has a slight advantage over the truggy because of the larger tires but both are great.

RE: Which Redcat electric?
I forgot to also ask, which spare parts should I order with it?
|
RE: Which Redcat electric?
Do you mean where?

RE: Which Redcat electric?
Get a lot of spare batteries and you need at least 3 to have fun with it for awhile. Check out www.tricountyracing.com for some of the electric models. He is good with pricing and is very helpful!

www.allaboutfunhobbies.com or www.clermontmotorsports.com or try your local hobbytown usa and see if they carry it.

Thank you! i own all of the electric redcats, the truck would be best for grass, then the truggy, then the buggy. i put the brushless setup in all of them, thats one upgrade you will want to do eventually. They are all basically the same layouts except gearing, shocks and some suspension but i like them all. Drop clermontmotorsports.com an email or see if he has them on his site, i get all my rc stuff from him, especially all the redcat stuff. Plus he is forum support here too and here since redcat racing began. also order some front a arms and steering knuckles as extra's |
RE: Which Redcat electric?
hey! Exceed... Redcat... basically the same right?
so... couldn't i get upgrade/replacement parts for my electric Exceed from Redcat or a Redcat dealer? that being said... i be likin' my buggy. just the other day i had a collision that slightly bent my front shock plate. straightened it out a bit with some pliers and kept runnin'. suh-weet. if that had been one of several entry level cars with plastic uprights that would have been the end of my ride. the only thing that's been a disappointment was the stock batt. the 1800 is a little weak. fortunately, i had a 3300 built at a local Batteries Plus and oh, mama! was that better! not a bad little ride. and as i'm not worried about competing or breaking speed records, the stock motor is just fine for me... for now. i'm just havin' fun watching the neighborhood kids jaws drop when i bring it from full throttle to a controlled slide stop just inches from my feet. BTW, anyone have an opinion about tire upgrades? like some road tires as opposed to the knobbies? |
RE: Which Redcat electric?
most 1/10 touring rims will fit, as long as they have 12mm hex. check suprasales on ebay, he has some great deals on tire/rim combo's.
