Tsunami EPX ESC problem
 

Just needed some information on my electric that I just bought. After everything is connected....the truggy will not move, no motor output. I have tested the motor directly with the battery and it spins fine. I have steering and the battery is fully charged. I have noticed that atop the ESC there is a red light flashing on it. Is this suppose to be like that ? I have a second ESC that I removed from another truggy and it also flashes red..... there is nothing aftermarket on the vehicle, all stock. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not Redcat support... I am new to RC but I will say this... I just got a Tsunami EPX. Mine ran great for about 5 minutes then did the same thing you describe. I put a different (from a friend) battery in it and it was fine. Have not tried re-charging and retrying the first battery yet. I have brushless and upgraded batteries but have not used either yet! This occurance was in stock out of the box form on the provided 1800mah battery.

thanks, i resolved the problem by changng the esc to a tamiya one....but wanted more power so i went to a traxxas brushless....it runs great now

Wow, this has got me worried![sm=what_smile.gif] I just ordered on of these the other day. Please don't tell me I'm going to have problems right out of the box! I really don't want to be buying motors, battery's and esc's on a brand new car.

What did you do about getting it repaired and how long did it take to get the part? How did the warranty service for Redcat work? Hopefully I'm not second guessing my decision in buying this car.[sm=confused.gif]

Yes its the traxxas velinon vxl system. Runs great, I just have to change the original pinion to something with less teeth on it to get some more torque, I can't seem to get it to wheelie. Plus I haven't gone with a li-po YET !

How is the torque with stock gearing on 6 cells?
