Exhaust

Has anyone tryed to take the round manifold and drill a hole and put a nipple there for the fuel pressure and running no muffler? I have a feeling the exhaust hole would be to big and it wouldnt allow enough exhaust to push the fuel in the motor.

Not sure if it would work but i know my muffler fell off the other day and i like the way it sounded. It was loud!!

Here is a very rough sketch i just did in paint of what i am talking about.

I will try it but i wanted to see if anyone else has tryed it. I think it may work but you would have to squeeze the outlet a bit so it restricts some air for the fuel line.

RE: Exhaust

it might or might not work.. there might not be enough back pressure but i could be wrong...

RE: Exhaust

thats what im thinking also, but if you squeeze the end to restrict the flow it might be just enough. i might just have to order one really fast.

yea.. you should so we can see how it looks and sounds.. hehehe.. mabe take a video of it running so we can hear it also...

RE: Exhaust

i will, i got some more bashing to do this afternoon with my buddy so we will see if i can break something else. $7 shipping is quite a bit for one part.

You might have a lot of fun if you put a tube into the header at that point because there are actually flames there............if you do that please vidio your test runs, might be interesting :D

No it wont work. The Car might run, but you'll Never tune it.
The Pipe is like a Resovoir of pressure. It keeps the pressure on your gas Tank RELATIVELY constant, (approx 6 psi) even at low rpm.
If you remove the pipe and tapped the header, you would get wildly Fluctuating pressure. Probably NO pressure at all at lower RPM.
Not to mention that they dont call em TUNED pipes for no reason. lol

correct, it probably wont work, not to mention the temp of the air and flames that are in the manifold.

well arent you 2 just a bummer. :) maybe i will try it with the old one just for video purposes and see if i can get some flames for a second before the gas runs out.

RE: Exhaust

haha one time my pipe fell off and i took it off a couple times to hear it casue its loud. and it would idle fine like regular and go normal at slow speeds but when i would pick speed up it would cut out, and when i would slow down it was fine and idled perfect.
