throttle return spring
 
what type of spring is best to use for this? i would like to make on for my volcano once my parts come in. has anyone put one on a volcano sv? where did you get the spring for yours? where did you mount it?i'm just trying to get idea because i got my volcano in pieces and i would like to get all the ideas i can for when i get her up and running again.i will also have some real interesting pics for you guys i'm hoping late next week.

you can go to an auto parts store and get a spring or a hardware spring, hook it up to the servo arm or the throttle arm and hook it up somewhere else on the rc so that if the power is off, it closes the carb, doesnt have to be super tight, just a back up to close the carb.

If you use too heavy (strong) of a spring, will it hurt the servo?

it shouldnt, just make sure its not struggling too much to open the throttle, make sure its set just tight enough to close the throttle.
