break in
is there a way to break in a new motor before you install it into the car, a friend of mine told me he broke in his new motor while it was out of the car and then he installed it , has anybody ever heard of this and is it recommended?

RE: break in
I stumbled upon this at All About Fun Hobbies that will for a fee, break in your engine. I guess if you don't have time to break in an engine, it's a good alternative.
Engine Break-In For Standard Engines $45.00 Engine Break-In For Standard Engines Do you want your Nitro Engine broke in the best way possible in a controlled situation? Not sure how to break a nitro engine in properly? You can send it to All About Fun Hobbies and Games and we will break your nitro engine in for you. How it works: You purchase an Engine Break-In either a standard Engine Break-In or a High performance Engine Break-In. Once you make the purchase you will ship the engine to All About Fun Hobbies and Games, 303 Townecreek Dr, Euless, Tx 76039. Once we get your engine we will perform the purchased break in. What You Get: Complete tear down, inspection and cleaning of the engine to ensure there is no left over particles of metal from the machining process at the factory. Complete sealing of the entire engine around the head gasket, engine back plate, carburetor connection where it meets the engine body and sealing of the carburetor needles. A controlled break in using the heat cycle method for the first tank. Heat cycling tempers the metal in the engine, making the engine much more durable meaning the engine will wear at a slower rate giving you a longer life. The engine stand is not for sale, by purchasing this item you are purchasing an Engine Break-In from All About Fun Hobbies and Games. |

RE: break in
Hudy makes a nice break in stand, but its insanely expensive, and theres no advantage to breaking your engine in out of the car.
