failsafe issue.
i am trying to put a failsafe on my volcano sv and my "other truck" as well, i got in trouble for posting a different make of rc on here so i'm trying to keep from getting either banned totaly from here. anyway i put on the failsafe and it seems to be interfering with the throttle and steering control. does anyone know why it does this? or how to fix it? both controls seem very slow to respond and very twitchy too.

RE: failsafe issue.
did you set the failsafe?
|
RE: failsafe issue.
Maybe it's the little set screw thats not adjusted properly?
|
RE: failsafe issue.
i set the failsafe and it does work, it applies the brakes on my volcano when it gets out of range or loses signal. but without the failsafe evrything seems to work just fine. as soon as i hook the failsafe to it i get problems using steering and throttle at the same time and they are both very slow to react.

RE: failsafe issue.
Weak batteries? Hopefully ehroof will be on tonight lol he's the master of failsafes.:D
|
RE: failsafe issue.

RE: failsafe issue.
What radio are you using?
|
RE: failsafe issue.
I don't think it's his radio the trucks work well without the failsafe.

RE: failsafe issue.
Sometimes Failsafes can Bugger up the Radio System. I had a problem like that too.....
Double/Triple check that you did the installation exactly as the instructions said.... Check all the Connectors, you mighrt have one thats not making the best contact that it Can. BUNDLE all your cables neatly and rout them as far from the antenna as posible, (Iknow you dont have much room in the radio box,,,lol) Messy cables can generate "Noise". Its also best to use a Hump pack battery, as they have more Punch and you might be experiencing a Voltage drop at the Failsafe, (although it shouldnt be much, if any). If all that fails, return the failsafe and get another. Dont use those Venoms with Temperature capabilities. Ive heard some folks say the are Glitchy, (Just like yours). |
RE: failsafe issue.
the failsafe i got is a himoto brand. it doesn't have any extras on it like the temp gauge or anything like that. and what hump pack would work best?and any ideas on usual price for one?

RE: failsafe issue.
I got this one from Clermont, it works well and was shipped fast

RE: failsafe issue.
Yeah, I think I'll by the Spektrum also. In the mean time I'll use my old am Futaba. It still works fine.
Good thing I kept it from back in the old Tamia Monster Beatle days.. Oh, the memories LOL |
RE: failsafe issue.
I've been stuck using my futaba 6ex used for flying. Man it's hard to drive my monsoon with it. Iam also buying the spektrum radio. Ordered on ebay yesterday.

RE: failsafe issue.
Cool, did you get a good deal?
|
RE: failsafe issue.
249.00 Spectrum DX3.0 DSM RADIO 2 RECEIVERS FREE SHIP. I think it has 3 or 4 cars it can control. I know I should support my lhs but they want 350 for the exact same thing. I'm not rich:eek:
|
RE: failsafe issue.
who is rich these days?
|
RE: failsafe issue.
249 is the min price. Thats what they go for.
|
RE: failsafe issue.
I almost bought the Spektrum back a few months ago before they had the "special". I ended up getting the Airtronics MX-3 FHSS. I'm really liking it... It has the failsafe feature and an 18 model memory (not that I'd ever need that many!) I bought it at my LHS for $189.00

RE: failsafe issue.
that sounds like a pretty good deal, especialy with the failsafe built in.
