Diff fluids

My Volcano SV, which has about the power of two SH .18's, has some really bad traction issues. It cannot go in a straight line without me going half throttle and driving like a grandpa. The problem is, when I full apply throttle, the back end would spin faster than a drifter on ice and one wheel would turn into a balloon. And turning it cannot be any worse. It would as usual, spin out sending me into a spin of holy G-horses. I have no idea what weight the diff fluids the Volcano came with factory. Now i'm thinking what if I change the Rear diff fluid to a thicker kind, as well as the front for better cornering. Ive searched, but i've only found info on 1/8 trucks or truggy's with the center diff. And BTW, I don;t spend much time on loose surfaces, she's a street queen.

i use 10,000 wtg in my buggy (tornado) but it is not thick enough so if you are bashing go with 25,000 or 30,000 Wtg

LOl thanks Eddie i forgot that he was runing a .21 in his volcano. ya with that engine you will not get mutch traction! but you can help it by puting in thick diff fluid and geting new tires maby you can go bigger too!

Would it be smart to just lock the rear duff making it a positrac and putting thicker grease in the front diff? I know about the handling issues, but im just wondering if it will cause drivetrain wrap-up or severe damage.

RE: Diff fluids

you could add silly puddy in the rear dif case to lock it and see if you like it that way.

I put some silicone caulk in my rear diff today. Seems a little "stiffer" than the front. [&o]Couldn't run it today though, rained here all day. Hopefully tomorrow.

Wonder what JB Weld in the rear would do?
