Hello I'm looking at the Volcano EPX brushless rc and was wondering how long it can run for and how long it takes to get fully charged. PLEASE RESPOND!

usually about 15 minutes for the battery to die and 8 minutes of accelarating alot.

Using the battery and charger that is included you want to charge it for at least 8 hours.

You can get faster chargers from most hobby shops.

depends on what amperage you charge at. With most chargers, you can charge it in as little as 20 minutes (depending on pack capacity).

If you are going to invest in a charger, you should also upgrade the battery as well. The battery and charger that are included in the box are great for beginners where it might be their first RC vehicle. Going with a better battery alone, will give you longer run times and a much faster vehicle.

Do you have any suggestions for an upgraded charger and battery and what type of battery does it come with ( Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, how many cells, and how much mAh) Thanks !!

Do you think an 8 cell, 9.6 volt, Ni-MH, 4000 mah battery would be good, or could it possibly cause the motor to burn up ??

we dont recommend anything higher than 8.4 volts.

it comes with the r/c industry standard tamiya style plugs...... and also comes with deans plugs not installed. I'd recommend using deans plugs.

If you put a 9.6 volt 4500 mah battery in their would i have ti install deans connectors.

Tenergy batteries are really good. High drain rate with high quality cells.

if your going with Tenergy Cells, I'd ONLY buy the propel 4500mAh (yellow) cells.

I'd reccomend buying a battery building kit (shrink wrap, battery bars, deans pigtail) and buying the cells individually and making your packs into Side by Side (SxS). I'd highly recommend buying the cells/battery kit, and building your own packs. Much better performance and often times it's cheaper.

Yes it is true what pede_187 said. SxS batteries give you more power but building them can be dangerous. I wouldn't recomend any one doing it with out a few years of rc experience. And honestly unless you are racing you won't notice that much more of a power difference.

When building a SxS battery you will need a high quality soldering gun and high quality solder. One thing that you do need is a good battery gig and to be very careful not to over heat any of the cells with the soldering gun. That will cause the cell to go bad.

Don't get me wrong I like SxS packs and have around 5 or 6 of them. I also have a ton of standard stick packs. I am just saying that it isn't as easy as pede_187 is saying to build one.

The difference between the propel 4500 20c/10c battery and the tenergy 4500 10c battery that we carry is that the propell battery has a 20c burst rate for a few seconds then goes down to 10c drain rate. Where as the standard 4500 10c battery stays at 10c all the time. I have run both the 4500 tenergy batteries in the Volcano the 4500 10c battery is more than enough battery for bashing.

Does a higher discharge rate make the cars top speed go up or does it just make the car accelerate faster?

Higher discharge discharge rate means a faster tops speed. Burst rate is more take off. The higher the discharge rate the lower the run times.

The stock motor is 3300kv. I am getting some 5000kv motors that can be used with the stock esc as an upgrade for an even faster car.
