Steering Servo
 

Hello gang
I'm just wondering what I could use for a replacement steering servo. I find that my stock one in my Tsunami is getting weak. I'm still fairly new at the rc thing so I'm not total sure if all steering servos are the same and if the wiring are all the same between all types.

Change your batteries before you go and spend money on a servo.

I did the battery change when I first noticed that it didn't steer the same. When it was new the servo would turn the tries while stopped easily. Now even after replacing the batteries it is not able to move the tires from side to side without the truggy moving or picking the front end off the ground.

before I say it's the servo is your trim set up wierd? if it is set to default then ya you need servo

it really depends on what you want to spend, hitec makes the 645, its a nice metal geared servo and goes for like $40. You can go with a 6001 or 9001 servo from an hsp (redcat) company, decent servo and cheaper, i am pretty sure yours came with a 3001 or 3003 and thats only 3 grams, 6 is a better number.

I bought the mg995 on ebay for $12.00. digital, high speed, high torque, metal gears, dual ball bearing. and it works great!!!

But first I would check you servo saver. It has a curved split on it that separates to reduce shock to the servo. Check that split to see if the plastic is flared out or if you can tighten the threaded disc on top of the saver (carefull it is aluminum), If you can't and it seperates easily you need to change the saver.

I just had a closer look at my steering servo and see that its a SG5010. Are these normally ok or should I look for a different make?
