Landslide help!
I got my new Landslide in today and I need to make sure Gear Mesh is set-up right. I watched the training videos and it shows all wheels rolling together in sync. If i put my landslide up all my wheels dont turn at same time. Is this a gear mesh issue?

RE: Landslide help!
Has anyone else had problems getting the screws that hold the engine down loose either? They take a very small allen wrench. I had a couple small allen wrenches that I thought fit well but the screws are so tight I stripped the end of the allen wrench. Maybe they were a cheap set of allen wrenches but sheesh, should the screws be this hard to loosen? I havent even Loctited em yet lol.

RE: Landslide help!
ya that's the way mine were to, and it probably wasnt ur allen wrenches, i had to grind to head of the screw off that i couldn't get loose, and then i had to buy a new motor mount
for the gear mesh, once you get the motor screws loosened, just slide the motor in until the clutchbell and spur gear touch. they should not be too close that it binds when you spin the wheels or spur gear, and it should not be so loose that there is give between the gears. use the paper test method, which is where you slide a piece of paper between to 2 gears and it should come out crinckled. the width of the paper should be the width of the mesh |
RE: Landslide help!
1st Id like to say thanks for all the information. Its nice to be able to come here with fellow rc friends and get help when you need it. WoW I cant believe those screws are that hard to get out. Its ok though, because I actually broke my landlside in today and it ran like a champ. I thought it would have a little more power though. Maybe its the way I have it tuned. I had a hard time starting it and kept flooding the engine but once I got past that I got to let it idle for my 1st tank of Gas. For the second tank when your supposed to run it 1/4 speed in figure 8 motion it kept killing on me. I adjusted the low speed needle to allow more fuel and it ran like a champ after that but I feel like I need to adjust the highspeed needle because I know a friend who has one and his does wheelies and stuff and mine doesent even come close to taking off that fast lol. Only problem I had all day was I lost a damn wheel when the wheel nut came off while running full speed down my street. Luckily I found the nut and was able to continue riding. So far I am very happy with my landslide, and am probably going to try and get the new engine if possible.

RE: Landslide help!
ya the .18 will definately not give that big truck a wheely. if you want that you'll have to find a high tourqe engine, the sh .28 might be able to do it, but its going to put lots of stress on your drive train, your definatly going to have to upgrade all of your dogbones, center drive shafts, and drivecups. the upgraded landslide driveshafts and cups on the redcat website may be enough. Then hope to God that redcat brings out a steel spur gear and trans gears like they said they might
