What the diff?

Whats the difference between the the VX and SH engines?

RE: What the diff?

the sh is built better than the vx. better quality parts in the sh. the stroke is a bit different on the sh, and the sh makes a little more power. the sh comes with a slide carb which gives better throttle response.

RE: What the diff?

there is not a whole lot of a difference between the 2, i have 2 sh.18 and really like them, seems they are better build. But i heard the Vx. has more top end and the Sh has more bottom end or the other way around.. but i really do like the sh.18 they are tough engines, and i think they both have side carbs.

my vx has a rotary carb, but you can add the slide carb (not side carb.) to it.
the rotarty carb is just that. the throttle "barrel" in the throat of the carb rotates as you give it throttle.
with a slide carb, the throttle "barrel" slides in and out rather than rotating.

The SH engine is a better build, quality and performer.

Here is a list of small block Vertex engines (AND 2 .15 big blocks)... http://www.chungyang.com.tw/e/e.htm Vertex/Chung Yang also manufactures engines for Duratrax and CEN.

I'm with Jig...well on the performance and power....I have a vx.16 and its very dependable, its just not a power house....with that said the sh engines can be just as dependable, its all in how you run and maintain them
