RE: Engine advice: Should I tear it down??

I'm gonna go in and tell them I'll take it for like what it cost them to fix it. I'm sure they will go for that. They fixed it for like $50. So I bet they will take that much for it. I'll see tonight. I have to go there to see what they can do about my receiver.

not to interupt.....but Mick....anytime your not sure its always good to tear it down....
I ended up taking off the head and carb, and flushing it out with WD40.. All must of been fine (or I got out anything that was in there)Cause she ran real well today!!Although I was getting worried when I first tried to start it, after doing all the teardown/flushing and stuff..I pulled and pulled on the string, anditdidnt sound like it was even trying to fire.. I had the glow inginter freshly charged and the carb primed, but then I decided topour a little nitro straightinto the carb, and that solved it!She came right to life after that!!I guess all the residue from the WD40 (or just being all apart and put back together) must of made it mad. :D But she seems pretty good now!It was alot harder to tune though, so hopefully she holds the tune and I dont have to go back and seal it up.. (I learned about air leaks and sealing the engine AFTERI was done and had the thing all back together)DOH!!But I'll do it if Ihave to.. Not alot to it really, just getting the gear mesh set again is the biggest pain, since ya cant see anything onthese Tornados'.. (Imthinkin about modding the transmission housing, cause there's a goodchunk of it that hangs over the edge of the pinion/spur that could be cut away, and it'd make it alot more service friendly..And Idont "think" it'd effect the durability or function of the piece?I'll have to see, next time Im diging around in that area of the buggy.. ;)Thanks for all the help guys!!
