Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
We have recently upgraded some parts on the Backdraft and Aftershock models to make them stronger.
Through our own testing and feedback from customers, we have identified a few weak areas in certain components and have redesigned and strengthened them. The following parts will be swapped out at no charge to you and all you have to do is follow the directions below to receive the new upgraded plastic parts. The new upgraded parts have been modified, thickened and in some cases redesigned to help prevent against breakage. Please go to the link below for more information and to find out how to get free replacement parts. http://www.redcatracing.com/informat...placement.html Thank you Darin |
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
seems like a good program, but I am sure i am not the only one that thinks it would suck to have to send in the other parts for replacement and have the vehicle down for that much longer.

RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
Yea, a "prepay-refund" would be more customer friendly.. But still a pretty cool deal.. Lot of times a co. will just upgrade the product and not worry about what's already been sold..
|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
willredcat take the parts that have not yet broken to? i have had the c-hub brake and today my steering linkage all broke.... i have had more time with my aftershock 3.5 being broken than running it seems like.
|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
Would a program like this apply to Earthquke Nitro Earthquake 8e, or have those parts been already upgraded on the new truck before shipping?
|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
you have to include a proof of purchace, thats whereim ****ed. i dont keep recipts for 10-15 bucks wrth of parts.
hell, between mine and my buddys, we have 4 handfulls of parts, and have never kept a recipt. is there any way around that?? |
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
I guess I ment to say since those cars are similar to the Earthquake 8e does that mean that the NEW Earthquake 8e will have already had the upgraded parts from the factory since it just came out in Jan.???

|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
no, got em at the local hobby shop.
|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
Im sure they could help you out with some sort of receipt.
|
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
I dont know what they'd need a receipt for? The broken parts are pretty much all the proof they need that you got some bad parts? LoL.. I'd send the broken pieces back w/o a receipt and see if new parts show up.. Only cost ya the stamp it takes to get em there.. What else are ya gonna do with em?

RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
I purchased my parts from authorized sellers, but I didnt hang on to the damaged parts. Didnt think there was a need to. Should that prevent me or anyone else from getting upgrades? I have proof I had to purchase replacement parts.

I have proof I had to purchase replacement parts. You would have to ask Redcat that ? Dont take the following comment personally ;), just our best quess. Most likely it is so they can get credit from manufacturer of the parts or prevent people from producing fake recipts for free parts to resell. But you would have to ask RedCat. |
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
I can understand trying to prevent getting free parts to resell. I would just hope they would consider the fact that most people arent going to hang on to the broken parts .

RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
I want to say THANK YOU to Darin for excellent customer support thats on par with the big companies like HPI . I received all my replacement parts yesterday. The material on the front hubs is definitely thicker. I cant tell if its more flexible though. But I guess Ill find out in time. I would still change the design on the from hinge pin holders though. Instead of the plastic captures they should just be clips holding the pins and that would eliminate that problem.
Thanks again Darin! |
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
Keithjv, how long did it take you to get your parts after sending them back? Thanks,

NOTE: After re-reading the "replacement program" link, I actually think there wanting a receipt or proof of purchase, for the "CAR"... Not for replacement parts you've bought? Least that's how it reads to me? Anyway, good luck to everyone who needs parts! Hope ya get back in the game asap!! |
RE: Aftershock - Backdraft Part Replacement Program
hey darin,
i have the redcat after shock 3.5 now. i also have the redcat avalanche that back when i bought it, had the recall on the faulty fm digital radios. i sent the radio back and had a credit i never remembered to use. was $20 bucks.? heres my question, i got the aftershock 3.5 for my birthday 3/31/2010. reading all the issues i wanted to know, i have not broken in the engine yet, but i am shocked from the all the issues i've heard. so my question is, can i have all the replacement parts with my store redcat credit? i have not broken the parts recalled, but don't really want to go through the break in period to remove and send borken parts back... i can provide the paypal receipt from an authorized dealer it came from in march. my account should have my 20 credit on it still... i would like to play with the gift, but little heart broken that yet i got one with a recall again... geese my luck. p.s. i have the tornado bb too and all aluminum upgrades woo hoo, hit and climbed a tree like a squirell the other day and runs great... and the redcat lightning, just sold my two tsunami's. not in to the truggy so much now... let me know. [email protected] p.s. i saved all the past emails about the credit and return from back then... |
