SP 03018 ESC multiple questions
 

We ordered two Redcat Racing EPX RTR Electric RC Street Cars online and we've been confused about the ESC (SP03018 from Redcat) that came with the car. The manual included with the car states that the ESCis:1.5kHz PWM, has a reset button, and brake mode. We measured the output of the AM receiver and it's 50hz. There is no button next to the LEDon the ESC. And for some odd reason there is no brake mode. If we go forward and give "reverse" throttle, the car coasts until it stops and then goes into reverse. However if we go into reverse and give "forward" throttle the car stops like crazy and shoots forward. None of this matches the manual is this normal? We need a brake mode to be able to properly use these RC cars for our purpose.

Except it is black and like the one in the picture there is no button next to the round LED hole, we see a bare area on the PCB inside, unlike:http://www.rcauta.cz/Fotografie/Zboz...al/HM03018.jpg which clearly has a button under the opening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
