My New Backdraft 8e (Earthquake 8e Convert)

My New Backdraft 8e (Earthquake 8e Convert) wanted to go E buggie racing so I converted my Earthquake 8e which had been having a lot of problems with the diffs so this should take some stress off the diffs and servo with running the smaller tires. Thanks to Kurt@URCHobby for the parts.

Runs great!!! still have the earthquake spur and pinion on there now but will see how it does on the track also picked up some backdraft shocks w/springs off an 8E on ebay so I can soft'en her up a little. I like the painting just as much as driving ha ha!! My 5yr old helped pick the colors out.

Forgve me for chiming in so.. late. (LOL)

Formula, I am doing the same with my earthquake 8e. I have parts coming today. I already got the adapters for wheels and wheels/tires. This runs way better with the wheels. Handles so good, and no more wanting to flip or do a wheelie when i give throttle. I will post pics asap.

I'm using JConcepts Double Cross buggy tires and Rulux buggy wheels. these are so cool.

I have seen this video. I like your vids over at youtube. Been helpful. All my parts came yesterday and wow, this thing works great. I am still amazed at how well it handles as a Backdraft. Dont get me wrong, I loved the earthquake. (until the novelty of the wheelsies, balloooning tires and stuff wore off) Before the conversion of mine, I had to replace the servo saver. I think it was due to the wheelies.
Love your paint job too.

Here are some photos:

Formula, I noticed that a set of tie rods are gone. Is it okay to remove them?

The Backdraft and Aftershock don't come with those links, just the Earthquake with its huge tires. You can take them off, but I was actually planning on adding them to my Backdraft.

What servo are you using now? You said you were having problems with the servo.

RE: My New Backdraft 8e (Earthquake 8e Convert)

I already have a body. Bought a Backdraft body. I had to cut and trim it so it would fit over those extra steering links. As far as a servo issue, the only issue I had was with the stock servo, it would not go straight no matter how much I adjusted the sterring trim. I replaced it with an EXI Digital Metal Gear servo, now, it dead on.

Thank you for the insight on the sterring links, NewRage. Very helpful. I was wondering if I could remove them.
