DPS on floats ?
johnhardy1,
First let me refer you to a good basic article on float design.
http://flyinglindy.homestead.com/skisandfloats.html
and a float dimension/calculator if you are up to building your own
http://www.armoredplanet.com/hcfc/floats.html
There are a few pre-made float manufacturers out there...GEEBEE being one of them. These are not pretty and not the best but to my knowledge the most economical entry level floats and will get you in the water....rather air...the quickest.
Geebee makes 2 lengths...28" and 33". Here is a link to the 33" model.

The floats are typically picked out based on the plane length and weight.
In my opinion the 28" Geebee's are a little small for the DPS weight and the 33" are a little long for the length of the DPS. There are other float manufactures out there that offer other (or even custom) lengths. They are typically more expensive and require more work to assemble and finish. If you have a strong .40 or .46...and choose to use the Geebee's go with the 33"....when it's close go bigger.
I have a Deb on 33" Geebee's and it makes a great float trainer.
You may want to search another forum that has a Seaplane category...

These floats were made per the RCM article.
and here is the Deb on 33" Geebees

DPS on floats ?
I made mine out of pink foam covered with Zagi tape (remember the S in SPAD?). The DPS did well with them, but a bigger plane is sure easier IMO. I did use the float calc linked above BTW.
