Anyways, the purpose of a question is to get an opinion and information. I got alot...thank you for everyone that provided the information. Despite Chris's attitude, I agree with him as well. And to those would felt the need to editorialize how they felt about other responses....that information was not really useful...but I'm sure it was more a waste of your time to write it than for me to read it.
Cajun: I think you hit the nail on the head. A deal is only as good as the item you have and its future servicability. I'm not looking to be pennywise and pound foolish. Thank you for the information.
I have plenty of OS's....I'll buy what I choose from the information that has been given.

WOW! an argument and I wasn't even involved. Well let me jump in.
We have a guy in our club that swearers by O.S. wouldn't even think about buying another engine. He brought to planes to the field on New Years Day both with O.S. engines. He had trouble getting either one to run properly and ended up crashing 2 planes that day both because they quit running in they air.
Meanwhile I flew my GMS .47 powered plane 5 times that day with not a single problem!
It's been my experience that some people always seem to have problems with there engines no matter what kind they own.

I am sorry to spin you up Too Much, I just thought I would liven up the conversation a bit, but when you ask for people to give input, Like me I am sure they are really trying to be helpful and Like myself, we can pretty much only share our personal experiences. I myself was kind of stuck on only OS and Saito engines for years but now there are many good running engines out there thanks to better and better NC machining. I love trying new brands of engines and even radios etc. be open minded and try not to over anylise someone elses input we are really trying to help and I feel Everyone is being very patient with you. I very much value what I read here and take it all in just like you. One thought, when I put the MCP on my OS 46 FX equipped SPA3D, I really had to be patient and spend some time with the main and the idle needle valve setup as compared to the stock muffler settings, time well spent though as it performs very well now. As to being nuts, my defense is, I have 2 teenage boys...

negative or positive, i just call em like i see em. I honestly don't think he'll be happy with anything but an OS. Especially, if he's already bought and returned a Tower 46. The gms 47 and it are nearly identical, besides the head color, and Rnv.
After 3 or 4 of us have told him we've bought multiple times from Lee with good service, he still doesn't seem to think that Lee is an honest businessman, or that was the way i read it. So, as much as i think of Lee, in this case, recommending him buying an OS is just saving Lee the hassle.

I know that you Chris are incapable of making any kind of error in your infinite wisdom....so I'll take your infallible advice and run with it.
I wish Lee luck in his business.

Ok, I wasn't impressed with the Tower motor nor how long it took to get it.
Ok, but with Tower I know the engine will get here.
Ok...but I want to make sure I'm getting the tuned muffler
The tuned muffler well it seemed very, very heavy....like the tradeoff in performance was going to be at the expense of a lot of added weight.
When I opened my Tower .46. I was not impressed. In the past, I've bought nothing but OS....and typically I don't like to skimp on the engines
Right now HobbyTown is running a sale on Magnum 46's for $69.99 and in California
The anodization looked like it was very temporary.
I need to think about this some more.
Oh Bill your always sucking up to a few select spadders
