I'm just loving it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flew it today... A cold 42 degrees and I flew it till my hands were freezing. At first, there was not a soul out there because there was a 12 mph cross wind. A couple of guys coming out there to break their engines in. They all come over and say the familar, "What the hell is that?" Sheesh --- I know I'm going to get sick of that question. They ask, can you fly that thing...theres a 12 mph cross wind. I say, yep, I'm on my 5th flight....and really, it just don't matter.
I think I need to rename my plane. "It just really don't matter"...kills 2 questions at once. [8D]
No-one gets it really...so many people lost touch of what F-U-N is.

2MuchThrow:
The SPAD addiction has just begun
I find myself taking my spads to the field everytime and leaving the balsa stuff at home anymore. I think it's just a nerve free way to fly and really is a blast in the wind. The more wind you have the better you will like flying your spa3d....harrier landings are a breeze when it's windy. The "what is that thing" you get at the flying field is coming from people that haven't seen the light yet and are still flying their blasa (on calm and sunny days ONLY) and don't want to try a spad.
I have flown my spads in windy (crosswind and gusting) conditions that I would never have even thought to get the balsa planes out. Mainly for fear of needing a BIG trashbag to collect all the pieces.

Yes, only one other guy flew today and he crashed his brand new Funtana today on the 2nd flight....very sad
....although it was all fixable.
Almost all my landings where harrier landings....the only way I could slow it down enough. When I dropped the power in the wind it was dropping quickly...and very touchy. The harrier angle made the my SPAD3D more mangeable

Well I've landed it straight in before when there was no wind...you have to fly in hot and fly it all the way to the ground then cut the throttle and stall-in over the runway. Its a lot more work..

Don't land a spa3d hot! It is much easier to control flying about 20 degrees nose up and controlling descent with power touching tailwheel first.
