i have a 40 LA sitting around and i wanna attempt building a spad..
i want to use the 40 la of course..
i am curious if anyone built a 40 size pizza box flyer..
just the square box

im also looking at the QHOR..

it was made with a TT 42 GP...

and can u spray paint coroplast with paint made for RC ??

EDIT : also..i am looking at the plans for QHOR ....i have the 40 la...would a 40 inch wing span be perfect??? also

I am just about finished building a QHOR 40. The aluminum stock refers to bar stock used to make the landing gear. I used some spray can paint on the bottom of the wing and horizontal tail so I can see if it is right side up or not. It went on OK. If it flakes off I won't be upset. I will fly it with an ASP 46 engine. If the QHOR works out I have the stuff to make a SPD3D for my next adventure.

From what I've read, a Pizza Box Flyer would be great fun. If you go with a QHOR or Spa3D (I recommend the latter), use a 32" wingspan and 32" aluminum rail with your OS .40 LA instead of the standard 36" wingspan/36" rail.

i am only on my second balsa plane..even though i can hammerhead it and knife edge etc......

Ditto Scott, I have 32ā€¯ QHOR with a 40fp which is basically the predisor to the LA. It flyā€™s fine with that engine.

The plane or the engine? I'm thinking a .40LA weighs just about the same as a .25FX, no? And the power would be about the same, maybe a little greater. Mind you I haven't tried the combination, but that's my thinking.
