great video! It looked like it was pretty tame to fly. - landing and takeoff's looked much slower than my pcp one does. Looks great to me!

Well we started the Group build last Wednesday night. grumpE took photos and will be posting them in this thread as we progress. He is also building a flying ambulance, so when we have a midair (9 cars in the air at one time) or if someone goes down, we will have someone else on the side waiting to take off with it.

Later,
Omaha

Yup, we be a bunch of plastic cuttin fools!

Will post a series of pics of the build, mischief and hopefully a few of the testing, flying and "racing".

Take note of Omaha's basment. LOTS of plastic stuff hanging around. A real purty pattern bird too........NOT plastic.

Anywho.

Here you go, welcome to my basement laboratory says Omaha.........................

GrumpE,

Has been busy lately, I think he still has a few pics he hasn't posted of the build yet, but I had to post pics of the finished flying Ambulance. On the roof of the cab are actual LED strobe lights. Let me know what you guys think.

Amen to being busy! Flew for the first time last week in over a month. Crashed my crop duster, blew the stopper out of my four star tank and didn't get to my coro car.[:@]

This job thing is really starting to be a drag............................

Will try to get the rest up folks.

GrumpE,

Did you get any more progress done on Dumbo? It is coro now, so everyone here in the SPAD forum will be waiting to see it and get a flight report. Oops did I let the cat out of the bag?

More like an elephant out of a milk crate if you could see my garage.

Nope. Too many irons in the fire. Maybe tonight. Will call you if I can find some time.

Yes folks Dumbo WILL live again!

He may even fly this go round. Will post all of the pics and details when he is done.

ok,

Been way busy but have a few more pics to share. We hope to maiden several of the "cars" and the "ambulance" this evening. Dumbo is waiting for his rx and battery. Hope to fly him this weekend. Will start a thread later, maybe tonight, to detail what Omaha and I did.

gumpE,

You need to post a picture of your finished car, so everyone can see it. You did a good job trimming it!

I Maidened the Ambulance in about a 12 to 14 m.p.h. wind last night for its owner (Steve). With the extra side walls it wanted to weather vain in the wind. It felt like it was flying just a little tail heavy upwind, but downwind it flew straight and level for the most part. It flies a little different than the cars, but is still fun to fly. Another club member (with more experience) flew it for him as well, and then Steve got the nerve up to fly it. He flew it around very good and brought it in for a uneventful landing. With a little stick time, he will be flying it with ease.

Finished or RE-finished?![&:]

I maidened mine int he same 15 mph wind. Battery came unpluged from the switch harness and she went in. Minor damage really but I got her all back together last night. Ready for tomorrow. Didn't get to dumbo as I was working on my car. Oh well, maybe this weekend.

Pics of mine, finally. Took a day off from work today. Actually spent the morning in the ER after wiping out on my mountain bike. Bunch of contusions and lacerations and one big ole bruised ulner nerve. Typing one handed sucks.

Anyway my car, after the rebuild. I CA'd some gutter plastic over a crack in the laft side of the fuse. The gray coro in front of the driver bridges two rips in the white coro from impact. Also switched to holes in the fuse for my fuel and vent lines as I was having a tough time with kinks behind the fire wall. She flies well now.
