Awesome planes! They cam out really nice.

Did you build them just using the plans from the SPAD website? I want to make one for a brush cutter engine Ihave converted.

Yep, just a few things I have modified:
- higher and wider fuselage to accomodate more easily the tank (or bigger one..)
- Dont just glue the elevator to the bottom and thats it, doesnt give me too much confidence, I also glued some triangle balsa stringers along the joint, now its really strong and you can fly peacefully without worrying of the elevator falling apart..

I have also found I do not need to flush any surface, (at least with the coroplast over here..), just bought lots of different cyanos, made tests and used the best for all my glueing, works great and fast.

Those are beautiful. Nice work.

What are you using for covering over the coroplast? It looks really great.

Hi there, thanks. I used vinyl, I really have to say I was about to paint them but a friend of mine suggested vinyl and I am really happy with the result and it does not peel off as I expected..
Just on some parts like the edges of the elevators and on the trailing edge I put some cyano on the edges, just to ensure it would not peel off.

They look great. I vote we need video of a flyby too!

I do have a question though. Why did you glue the top wing skin to the top of the bottom wing skin at the LE?

If you glue the top skin to the bottom of the bottom skin, you won't have that flat edge of 4 mil coro facing the wind. Probably doesn't make any difference flying- wise. I've just never seen it done that way.

Hmm maybe I missunderstood the plan but thats I understand from the plans and from the drawings.. Your statements makes sense in any case, I have no problem with the 3mm looking out there though....

petronio,
Well we cut em out at the same time but assembly has been spread out. The guys have come over and are working on there own. I just had the coro and downspouts etc. 2 have been picked up.
Mine is getting gear installed motor is on but hiding behind the wings. 3 left to build!
wait a minute 2 gone, 3 left to build and mine...Thats 6!
Another buddy decided to get in on this after the five were cut out so I had him over and we wacked up some coro for him as well. One guy brought a bundle of yard sticks another brought CA glue, another screws I had some vinyl..... used scrap pine for motor mounts. Every one had landing gear wheels etc from their own recycle stashes.
