engine heeeeeeeeeelllllp

hello guys,
after doing some mods on my qhor (put a 1/2" aluminum engine mount and 1oz of lead on the nose to make it nose heavy) I went today to catch the last snow on my flying field. engine started ok, a little aileron and elevator trim and it was hands off. flew rock steady, like a trainer. i know it sounds stupid for a qhor to be stable but mine IT IS anyway after half a tank the power dropped and nomatter what i did i couldnt put power in the engine. it crashed resulting in a bent fuse (need to find a hammer in the garage) the tank was half full when it crashed. my question is why the engile stalled?????????? if it matters when transporting the plane in my car (nose down) on the floor i found some fuel, not much. since the engine was empty it only came from the tank which was quite full. if the tank has just a tiny leak on the stopper is it possible that when the fuel level in the tank gets bellow the stopper the pressure in the tank to drop that bad?? the engine is a MAGNUM .28XL BB i got lust year in august. a good engine. pretty hard to start but i like it so far. this never happened before Red GUY PS. the pic is from the last time i went flying. not today. sorry, today no pics |
RE: engine heeeeeeeeeelllllp
check the servo and the throttle arm on the engine make sure it's not loose and that the servo is working ok

RE: engine heeeeeeeeeelllllp
the low end needle on mag's have a bad tendency to back their way out. Sometimes releiving themselves completely from the engine. That could be the problem, as well as a hole in a fuel line somewhere, or an airleak somewhere. They also tend to vibrate the carb screws out from time to time, are they both still there?

Also check your tank clunk and make sure it is free.

RE: engine heeeeeeeeeelllllp
the clunk was in front of the tank, but i think thats because of the crash shock. anyway, i found out that the fuel line inside the tank was cracked [:@], meaning i got bubbels in the line. i think thats the reason of the power loss
thanx guys reg guy |
