Hi to you all ,

I am looking for the 1/5 scale molds of the Pond Racer .
I think Kerry Sterner made them in the early 90 's .
All info is highly appreciated .

Come on guys , you had your chance to do something with them , now its time to pass them on .

Thanks in advance ,

I don't know how they made them, but there were two at the '95 Giant Scale Air Race in Galveston, TX.

The first one was flown by Ron Goodrich of the Braun Racing Team. It had a couple of A-Cubed, 8.8 c.i.d., engines and weighed 40 pounds. It took 4th in Silver.

Found something interesting: You can see a video of it flying on www.youtube.com. Type in "Pond Racer" in the search bar. Funnything, at the end of the video it says filmed 9/9/06. Is this thing still flying after 10 years?

I'm not sure who was flying the second one. It didn't place, so I couldn't find any specs on it.

PS These are my original photos from the race. I used a macro lens on the digital SLR camera to re-shoot them.

A German website has been listing a big Pond Racer:
http://www.air-c-race.de/
http://www.air-c-race.de/shop/ (in German)

The kit with abachi sheeted wings looks not-cheap. With molded wings I call it expensive...

edit:
found a video from 2005. Looks like it is the German model.

Yeah, I believe Braun still has most of his racers and they fly them occasionally. That appears to be Tim Redelman flying it.

Hello all Racers,

like Perttime said, it is the German pond from me. This Pond is Powered bi 2 Engines from 3W 75 i Twin Spark Racing, turning a 20x16 with 9000 RPM and goes arround 250 Mph up.

We make this modell with an Wingspan from 3 Meter wich is almoust 10 Foot. We only offer this Modell after 5 Years experience in Fibre composite and make this modell, we need 21 Molds to make the Parts.

This Modell you can go full Power and fly em Race like, also with the Flaps we have on, you can slow them down.

Take a Look at my Racer Videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SAXKFQgivs for the Mong Racer Biplane

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-wsl...eature=related for the Nemesis Formula1

and the Pond: http://video.google.de/videoplay?doc...ient=firefox-a

Have fun............. go fast, turn left

Racerbuilder,

Could you please post as many pics as possible of the Pond Racer that you sell. Also if have any pics of it with electric motors that would be great to see as well.

Thanks,

Sorry for the delay! I didn't had much time this weekend.
Well...here we go ! As mentioned above, I got the full composite version. The kit comes with the two main fusalges, center section, outter wings & tail surfaces already adjusted! Which saves tons of work ! The quality of the composites (fiberglass, carbon & nomex) is very good. Although a bit on the heavy side. (I'll post later on the weight of the empty airframe). The machined struts are included with the kit. (Nice piece of work!)
Here's a list of components I'm planning to put on the plane:
- 2 140cc 3W engines (with modified cylinder heads)
- 2 carbon counter rotating props (19x22)
- Pete model 6inch ultimate spinners
- Century jets retracts (not sure yet)
- and more....
The fotos I've put are the one that Racy sent me just before delivering the plane. I'll post more detailed ones later this week. Enjoy !

Hello Racers,

I do since year 2000 only racers.......... the Nemesis was my first plane for 140 ccm gasoline and an Wingspan from 270 cm... the Mong Racer in 1:2 and 220 cm Wingspan was the second, the Pond Racer was the third Model for 2x60 ccm and up with an Wingspan from 293 cm. Some customers put an electric engine (12.000 Watts Power on 45 Lipo cells each side) ore one is building a Turbo Prop with 2 Jet Cat stp5............... the 4. Model was the Small Nemesis with 158 cm Wingspan, an Small NXT with 158 cm Wingspan both for electric 1-4KW ore .58-.60 engine 2 Stroke. We also do now the NXT in Big for engines 10-15 cui (150-222ccm) Since last week we also have the first Race Jet, an L29 Delfin with 233 cm........ to be continued....

The Price for the Pond we lowered Yesterday........... the dollar is good in the moment..... so if you like it.....

And buy the way........... Jon Sharp give us the Copyright on his design, photos, his name and the Brand Name Nemesis and NXT......

So all will be legal also...............

Go fast and turn left.............or be last....

Video Link for the L29 jet.... Prototype full composite inmould paint in silver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1WyODL8eXM

Mongster,

I love your kit!! Please continue to post more pics as you build the plane.

Question, why the 90° rotating landing gear?

The kit is 200 Euro of, so now for 2599 Euro... I know this is an high Price, but 3 Fuses, 2 Cowlings a middlewing and elevator has to fit togehter and all is full composite...

I can not take any order for this year, I will go next week to see the Production and stay about 4 Weeks... So the Year will be over when I am back...

That is the same plane manufactured by Air-C-Race. Keep in mind that you are probably going to pay less in shipping if you order from TBM plus, you don't have to worry about the delay of having it go through customs since TBM is in the states. Touch base with TBM and see if they have any in stock.
