5th Annual Trashman Classic SAMs Warbird Race
Get your registration in for the last race in the SAMs warbird racing series for 2010.
September 25th and 26th are the dates for the 5th Annual Trashman Classic Warbird Race.
This is the last race of the year in our points series and by the end of the day Sunday we will know who the Top Dogs for 2010 are.
As a side note, the CD has asked that all be informed that the matrix for both days of racing will be handled in a different fashion to help make the day go smoother for all.
Also, the SAMs Warbird racing group has invested in a new digital timing system that will help to ensure the most accurate times possible for all racers in the future. This system will be in use for the Trashman Classic and the CD has asked that you contact him with any questions you may have with regards to either of these subjects.
See you all there. And try to make the Saturday BYOF(ood), dinner out at the field if you can. It's always a fun time.
Oh and here's my Gold backup plane for the event.
Lets see what you plan to bring and race.

RE: 5th Annual Trashman Classic SAMs Warbird Race
I am looking forward to it. I talk to JR last night and the changes sound really exciting. I am testing with the Candyman and a YS120 to see if I can make gold speed (I would be very surprised if I could not with that engine). I may also bring a silver plane up with me, but I have not decided on that one yet.

P.S. when should we start the trash talking this time.

I do believe Mr. Gale that they are trying to keep things on a level that won't go over your oversized head.

Yes the trash talk is rather weak. I suppose it's because all you guys stuffing bigger engines into your ARFs in hopes of going faster or maybe been watching the teen chearleaders on ESPN so much that your landings are cartwheels.....hahahah I may take the cover off my Macchi in another week or so...........might even charge up the batteries.

Hey Slim,
If that was meant as a true compliment, then I thank you sir.
But were you referring to my textual assaults on our fellow racers or my building and painting efforts? Or possibly, both?
By the way, how is that FW-190 wing working out? Is it flying yet?
I have a set of cores here that match the wing on my current 190 Gold racer. If you have an interest in them let me know.
I think my supplier might be willing to cut me another set if I ask nicely.
By the way if you can't figure out a way to come race with us in the future, we might have to send a contingent from our area to come and get all in your face out there in your back yard! Go ahead, dare us.

Gun,
I was actually complimenting your trash-talk, there are several real Picassos in your area. I have had to back most everything up the last couple of months so I haven't gotten to the rebuild of the 190. I am looking to get to that in early Sept. and I may take you up on the core offer later this fall to be ready for Phoenix in March. By the way I do admire your building skills, where might I view additional pics of your 190.

OH PULEEEZE!
SLIM!
In the name of all that that is right and good, don't encourage Tommy-Gun in this fashion!
You don't know the level of ego maniacal idiocy you could unleash!
If he asks me into his front room one more time to show off that plaque he stole from the last race....... I just can't take it!
Please think about what you're doing. For the good of all of us. Please?

You will all be happy to hear that the testing of our new digital timing system went off without a hitch!
This system will allow us to have almost perfect accuracy with respect to the race times during our events. I said "almost" because there is still a human element involved. But even so, this system will be a great benefit to future racers.
If you want to see the system, look here, http://www.cei-ultrak.com/miscell/l10.html
Oh and yes, my P-40 is OK.

Mongo,
This plane requires making it AROUND the pylon, not in front of the pylon but actually AROUND the pylon. If I left it up to you I would finish dead last with no points and the course record in cuts.

Wow, While trying to think like an Englishman this still dosen't make any sense. Most of my airplanes require fuel, charged batteries and a decent pilot. James, you may want to give that P-51 away and save yourself a walk in the tall grass ha ha :-)

Tommy, the new system sounds interesting. So instead of handheld timers, the lap counters just push a button on the line? Just keep practicing with the thing and get those volunteers trained.
