Jeff, an I going to have to worry about that new Tsunami?

airraptor 07-31-2014 09:33 PM

well never know till I fly it but it is looking good. If i was to take a guess I am thinking I will need 35% to fly just at gold speed. The kind of racing shawn really is a guessing game as you can have a slower plane and still win or a way to fast plane and win. you have to be first across the line yet not beat the clock. You can see the other planes in the air but that little clock cant be seen. Its kinda like the old coffin corner days where you fly to fast and your plane flies apart and if fly to slow you stall. this range is about 5 mph lol

i plan to have the Tsunami and the macchi ready by then.

Okay James and Jeff,

So it looks like you've both abandoned the whole "GOALS" and "PLANS" stage of the game and are now regressing to the Jimmy Make-A-Wish Skids Foundation concept of DREAMING or simple WISH-FUL THINKING:

James, how are you going to win? . . . You don't have one of these (well, not yet, anyway):

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2020454http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2020455

(And Jeff, yours is a mere facsimile. :p)

That's right, gentlemen . . . The "GHOST" is coming back to HAUNT your dreams of victory!

Oh there is a GOAL and a PLAN, and even some wishful thinking on Jeff's part.

The wing is looking good.

I will put it into the agenda. I need to know if you want to do it Saturday or Sunday. If we have enough time then I will let you guys do it both days but again it depends on how many demos we have and how much time we have on Sunday.

Please let me know how many guys are going to participate in this and which day or days.

Thanks and looking forward to it,
JR

Trashman88 08-11-2014 07:39 PM

Heads up!!!!!

If you are racing Bronze, please get pre-registered as it is filling up and I am only accepting 20 pilots for this class. I will announce it when it is completely filled.

airraptor 08-11-2014 07:55 PM

JR I think no more than five guys. I really don't want a bunch of guys so have to run an extra race. its up to you what day you want to run it as I dont know the race schedule. These should be a fast race. Only need 30 seconds or less to start the race. do a flying start like the rest but limit to 8 laps like they do in the triangle series.

I plan to have a plane for Marty to fly.

Thanks, JR!

I've got the wing halves joined; ailerons hinged; and fiberglass reinforced the center section, as well as the trailing edge. (I had the trailing edge sanded to such a razor edge that the balsa was too thin, and therefore too easily damaged, even though hardened with CA.)

Just need to fill-in around the main gear leg cut-outs and final sand before covering and painting.

The YS110-S that was powering it before was a loss, so installed my hottest running 110FZ. Even with a little less power up front, I expect easily similar speed overall with the new wing design. And because it is scale, I think the new wing will make it look even better than the original. "007" says he's all too easily breaking out of Silver times on 20%, running his YS 115, and enjoys it's flight characteristics.

So, save me a spot in Silver . . . I grabbed a registration form, but you weren't out yesterday (Sunday) to give it to. I'll try to catch you next Sunday, so I can do my best to give you a challenge this race.
