I’ve heard rumors of a race at Speed World in December 2017. There is nothing officially published to support these rumors. Is there a race?

ATTENTION ALL WARBIRD RACING PILOTS December 2nd 2017 RC Pro War Birds Speed World in Arizona. 1. Please send me your registration information so that you can be preregistered - Your Name, AMA number, and the classes you wish to race, and the frequency # if still on 72. If you plan to race with another racer in the same class, please let me know so that we can put you on the same frequency (lane). 2. Notify all of your pilot friends who are interested in racing by having them contact me as well on e-mail at; [email protected], or by phone (text preferred) at 602 739-4569. They can also leave a voice mail at 623 776-0906 (land line). 3. It is expected that we will have the capability to use Model Tracker Software and tags in our aircraft to test a somewhat workerless system. We are, however, planning to have all workers needed to support the racing venue based on previous races held. But this is an exciting and new innovation in the model aircraft racing venue. Additional detailed information, including pictures, will be provided to those pilots who have pre-registered as you will need to connect the tag to your receiver either to an open channel or via a y-harness. The tag has a 6 inch Futaba/JR plug and each pilot should plan to bring an additional 6 inch extender for better placement of the tag. 4. Arizona does not observe daylight savings time so we are on MT, currently. Start times may be changed a little from what is being posted since we will need to attached the Model Tracker tag in each model. We will also need to complete the safety inspection as well as use the wing strips for worker tracking after registration and the matrixing is complete. WARBIRD RACE PILOTS: The next Speedworld Warbird Race is scheduled on December 2nd, 2017, and the event and is open to all AMA pilots. Speedworld is the birthplace of RC PRO Warbird Racing. This is an important race, so please encourage everyone you know to attend and participate in this exciting style of two-pole racing. Sign-in and safety inspections start at 8:00 AM Saturday. The Pilots meeting is at 8:45 and racing starts at 9:00 AM. There are no at the field over-night parking and somewhat limited electricity. Limited food (soda, water, chips, and sandwich) is available. FEE: $40 for the 1st class and $20 for any subsequent class; paid at the field when you sign the AMA documents. Everyone MUST PREREGISTER, by contacting Jerry by e-mail or by phone with your Name, AMA Number, Frequency, and the class(es) you plan to race. THERE WILL BE NO “AT THE FIELD” REGISTRATIONS ALLOWED. If you will be calling for another pilot from your race venue, please let me know so that we can accommodate those pilots who want to call for each other who are in the same class. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Fixed Bracket Format, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Classes, breakouts 1:30, 2:00, & 2:30 respectively. Back-up airplanes must be on the same frequency (if on 72). Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in each class. There will be a 10% bonus for twin-engines. The CD is Jerry Widmer, 602 739-4569, email: [email protected]. Please get your registrations in as early as possible. There will be no registrations allowed after Thursday (11/30) at 5 PM. Please feel free to forward this to those Warbird pilots who may be interested in making the race in Phoenix. We hope to see you at the race.
