Hello Racers-

The next race in the Sacramento Area Modelers Warbird race series will be held on August 1st.

Here is the registration form. The CD's are asking for everyone to register early. There have been threats of late reg fees. :D

You got a be kidding me, you had to put Serg and Kimo's ugly mug on that flyer? You will be lucky to even get one entry with those numbskulls on the form :D.

I am gonna jump this thread and ask for some help from you SAMS guys. Can someone who knows the Shaws ask them to call me. I gave them my card in Texas and never got their number.

Yes, they had a rough go of it.
I'm sure the senior Shaw will fill you in at at the next SAMs race. Unless you call before then.

They persevered but were welcomed to USRA racing the hard way.

Lots of engine and set up problems... I think they lost 2 planes and another almost but seemed to be repairable. 3 went in one way or another.
No doubt the kids can fly, but there is so much more than flying at this level. A plane is lost or saved by a "correct" split moment decision.


I am sure they will be back, but more wiser no doubt.

You can have a fast plane, good thumbs and still walk away empty.

They can do it if their wallets are deep enough. Steep learning curve here.

Great family and I hope they continue.

Very few people can walk into this and be dominant right off.

I was hoping to hear better news. I got 2nd place by 1 second my first time out in Unlimited. However you are right, You must have a dialed in package. They have my best wishes in GS racing. See you guys in 2 weeks.

Give me a break "Weenie"-Foot! Come August first, your going to need an extra towel to wipe off all the exhaust that is going to be all over your plane when My Macchi is front of you getting those 2:30 times. And when I am on the podium and you are in the grandstands (nose-bleed section, no doubt), don't look for this shoulder to cry on. I guess you will just have to go back to racing something your speed. I found a picture of you from your last win in the midget bike competition, you looked so happy!:D

If this doesn't get the smack-talkin juices flowin, I don't know what will.

BTW: I hope your wife is making some more pasta, that stuff was good ;).

Mongo, my wife is 5 1/2 months pregnant and my dad and his wife are flying in from Fort Lauderdale the day before the race. My wife and I are going to be there, you should come up and join in the fun!
