RE: Fun-Key Bell 222 E-Smart 600
Most people are using DX 7 they are cheap compared to other high end brands. I use a 7C Futaba 2.4ghz and a 6EX 2.4ghz I have never had a problem. With all the lights and retracts you are going to need a 10 channel I think you can get by with a 8 or 9 channel. Remember get the best you can afford first!!! that's why I need a bigger one now, radio that is hehe. If I was going to buy a radio today that I could afford it would be the Futaba 8FGH 8-Channel 2.4GHz FASST you can pick them up for 479.00 if you have money to burn I would get a FUTABA 12FGH FASST 2.4GHZ Tx/ R6014FS 900.00. One thing, radio programing is one of the hardest parts of flying a heli. with all the buttons and switches curves all the manual terms it can make a normal persons head cave in hehe. Your fist heli probably should be a RFT (ready to fly) with the radio already setup unless your really tech smart then you will have little problem. Charles hope this helps some

Decals and Clear coat. Made my decals on Corel Draw printed them on my Canon Photo inkjet, sprayed the sheets with a few light coats of clear coat let them dry, cut them and glue them on with testors window maker, drys clear. Clear coat after it's dry, seems to be working so far. My high tec drying room hehe still cold out. pics
The numbers I made the outside line wider and colored it blue it looks close.

Charles,
I'm back snooping around again, to see the progress your making. All I can say is WOW.. I'm sure there are literally hundreds and hundreds of rivets that you had to place.
I certainly understand you getting anxious to get the paint scheme going.. So far it looks flawless. Your skills and talent for details are incredible. You must have the patience of a Saint, that's for sure. I'll be back snooping again, great work..
I've been flying the helis for about 4 years and love every minute, however my wallet doesn't. Lol ! Here's a picture of my latest heli, it's on my wifes car.. I didn't want to take a chance of scratching mine. Lol ! It's a T-Rex 600 ESP TT (Torque Tube tail drive).

Don't know if you seen or tried these - just wonder if they would have worked as well, better, or worse for decals?

Thanks guys, Not been doing too much trying to figure out what to do next. I have been playing with windows. Here is a picture with Clear plastic glazing painted with Valspar stained glass blue. I cut it with the band saw there is a backing on the plastic so you don't mess it up. Windows are taped in with the plastic backing still on it will be more clear after the backing in peeled off.

I am still working on windows, cockpit this time. I used glazing again, tried clear styrene but I kept melting threw it. This glazing is a few bucks for a sheet of it. I made a heat sink for forming the windows with a torch. I think they came out nice. Pics

Charles, I'm back snooping around again. I'm amazed at the tool you made for the cockpit windows, very creative using the plastic glazing.
I know there's a ton of detail work that goes into the Scale Helis and or Planes. Just a curious question, how many hours do you thing it will take you to complete, from start to finish.. I'm guessing over 1,000 hours.

I made the front windshield from clear Styrene and micro screwed it on for removal. Glued in seats. and made a cockpit curtain to hide the back section. Glued on cockpit door handles.

Charles,
Poppin' in again.. things are coming along a lot faster than I thought they would. The door handles are impressive, the window and all... The chairs and the cockpit are awesome.
I enjoy your videos of your progress.. Keep it up and it'll give ya memories down the road.
I want to take a second here, to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...
