Very nice looking ship. What battery setup are you going to run in her?

Hi condor, well iĀ“m plannig tu use the standard battery setup for the trex 600 motor: lipo 6S 5 Amps, Rx lipo 2S 2.1 Amps, but if itĀ“s necesary iĀ“ll add more amps for the motor.

Thought I might chime in with a setup I use for the Trex 600

I run 8S with the following results

7.5 minute flight times
ESC temp at 168 degrees on a 95 degree day
3.84 volts per cell left in the battery after 7.5 minutes

. I purchased two Turnigy 8S 5800ma batteries from Hobby King (China) for 89 bucks a piece. I have over 30 flights on each pack and fast charge them at the field at 5 amps. I get a full charge in 20-30 minutes.
I have identical performance from each battery with no issues what so ever.
Here is the link to these (not USA priced) bricks

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._25C_Lipo_Pack

The 6S batteries I think are around 50-60 bucks

No, they went together pretty nice but the instructions could have been a little better. They left a few little things to the imagination but once I dove in it was pretty clear.
I did convert to ASTar to electric by adding hardwood and magnets (just like the 500).
I was very impressed with the paint and detail of both ships. The 500 only took me about 6 hours to install and fly. The AStar was longer because you have to build the interior frame, apply decals (I have the Sky News model) and exterior antennas.

Youmight find what you are looking for at www.ScaleRCHelis.comIt's a Scale RC Helicopter forum and they do nothing but scale helicopters and there are a bunch of Aerodyne 64s being built over there. Thats where I would go to look for information. Bet you could find the same problem that was sovled over there.

All help appreciated.

Default RE: AERODYNE/SCALEFLYING AH 64 BUILD

Has anyone had problems with RC Aerodyne? On July 5th I ordered a UH1 fuse for my Trex500 which was advertised with a free cockpit (pilots & instrument panel). I got the fuse without the free cockpit. They told me that it was on back order but I could see that if someone ordered the cockpit alone it was available. After waiting several days they went on backorder. After waiting a couple of weeks they came back in stock but never heard a word about a shipment. I sent two emails with no response. I called and left message a message with the girl who answered the phone. She took my name and number down and said Cliff would call me back. That was on 8-3-10 and still no call. I just sent another email and hoping someone will give me a status, even if they tell me they went out of business or something. I sent a person to inquire in person and hopefully I'll get a response. Relax, no baseball bats!!
I like the stuff that they sell and looking at a fuse for my Trex 600 but I'm reluctant now to place anymore orders. Any comments out there? Am I jumping the gun or what?

Got a RC Aerodyne EC 145 and apparently don't have all the tail parts. I have tried to get Cliff to call me so I could figure out what is going on. No instructions, proper parts or any help.. They had no problem taking my $535.00 dollars for this bare fuse, no mechanics other than tail parts, but I can't get anyone to talk to me that claims to know about RC.. Too busy with some trade show. Talked to three people today there and no one knew anything.. I also have a mechanics set with missing parts and another broken with broken fuse.. A replacement is supposedly on it's way for that.. So far over $1000 spent in four orders and nothing completed... Due to problems. If anyone has a drawing or can tell me what the 45 degree tail mechanism looks like please get a hold of me as all I got is a couple of bearings, a toothed belt and idler ... Oh yeah, a 6 in piece of tail tube.. No manual, picture or help... And the paint looks like it was done with a roller... Please someone help... Their web site is so cool I am badly disappointed.. My husband will kill me if he finds out I got functionally nothing for all that money.. He knows something is wrong because I been kicking the dog all day...

I'm sure with all the talented scale guys here we can get you on the path. I've found and emailed you a manual I found on the 145 that should help. Also I would sugest opening a thread on the scale section for the EC 145 (Need Help with EC 145 build maybe?) . That way the guys that have experiance with this kit will see it and will be able to offer assistance.

After seeing the PDF of the manual I see I am really in a fix as I am missing all the wood, some mechanical parts like the idler and bearings and doors, windows ect. Basically I got a fuse with bad paint on the tail.. 535 bucks for what?? Either I have really bad luck or someone ar RC Aerodyne has it in for me.., four orders and they all have issues.. Broken, missing or bad.. Hopefully I can get someone on the phone next week!!

Post a pic of the back of the tail. Also recheck the packaging, be sure that the didnt tuck something away on you. It would be unusual for this much stuff to have gone mia. Are you sure they didnt build and mount the wood on the tail for you? THats the way my UH-1 came.

Cliff (RC Aerodyne)returned from the trade show and got a call in to me first thing this morning. He spent a great deal of time helping me figure out what I was missing and more than took care of the issue.. even replacing the broken fuse. He was really very sorry about not getting back to me sooner.. He is a great guy and a fellow modeler. So don't be affraid to order you next big project from him as he is a really great guy, and stands behind what he sells. Can't wait to get the EC 145 going. The factory just dropped the ball big time and literally forgot to glue the 45 degree parts in the fuse, excluding them, or to put some stuff in the box. My guess is that these were early production since version two came out recently. Thanks everyone for the help, particularly Brian with sorting out what I was missing and the missing manual. I was really bumming setting here with snow up to my butt and unable to get things together. Cabin fever is a bad thing. Wanted to set the record straight.. Thanks to RC Aerodyne..
