Scale Heli self cooling ESC's

1 Attachment(s)

You guy's think it would be possible to get a campaign going to get Castle or some other ESC company to make up some ESC's just for scale helicopters?

I'd like to see an ESC with a cooling fan and heat sink like the RC cars have but built a little lighter and with the electronic programing like super soft start, no brake, no reverse, and speed governor just for RC helicopters. Available in 40 amp, 60 amp, 80 amp, and 120 amp.

Think we could do it?

Maybe a letter writing campaign? Not emails but real letters, nothing like a bag of 100 envelopes comeing in the mail to get things going. :)

Cooling issue is due to the added weight of the fuselage. Adding more weight isnt necessarily the answer. But either way you try to solve heat issues you may end up adding more weight . Sometimes going from a 3s pack to a 4s pack will help, also going to a larger amperage ESC will too. Not saying a fan isnt going to help but you know you got a nicely scale setup when you dont need all the extras. Oh yes, in this heat wave, a fan to evacuate the heat in an enclosed fuselage seems like it would be a good Idea.
