The Rascal looks like the perfect car at the moment.

I'm flying across the continent this summer to visit my cousins, I am 14 years old, I'm the only person in my family who knows anything about nitro RC, I have a 1/8th race truggy and my parents want me to bring it with me because my mom told my cousins about it and they are going crazy begging her to make me bring it, it's expensive and I would have to haul along my starter box and equipment if I brought it, I started to consider buying a Rascal both for a basher for me and so I could avoid damaging my expensive truggy by giving in and letting my cousins drive it.
I want to buy the red ARTR Rascal but I don't know if my digital AM (not FM) transmitter will work with it's receiver, WILL IT?
I have a steady income mowing old people's (and fat lazy people's) lawns, although it will probably take 3 or 4 weeks to make $250.
I will probably mold or hack some mud guards for the Rascal if I get it with enough time left before the vacation.
I was close to buying the NT18T but it needs a starter box, I like the Rascal's pull start because it does not require more charged batteries and baggage.
I posted this in a Schumacher thread so people would help me set my mind on buying the Rascal with their opinions, but I would like to hear about any faults, flaws or parts that commonly break so I can fix them or order spares.

Get an Acme or Xray.
There are all kinds of problems with the Rascal the manifold will be broken before you use it.

The Rascal is a tough little truck. Nothing should break with normal use. You should just be able to have fun!
As for radios. You cannot mix FM and AM components. The Almost-ready-to-run requires a complete radio system.

Oh well, the RTR isn't that much more, I'll just have two radios.
Edit: on second thought I think I'll get the super combo for the Airtronics MX3 might as well have a nice radio in case I want another different ARTR, now I'll be set for either FM or AM.
