Default Newbie with Menace

All,

New to the sport and I got my hands on Menace .21. Being new to the sport, I was unaware of the speed of this beast. Long story short, I hit a small tree and broke the control arm (wishbone) I ordered new ones, both plastic and aluminum. I'll keep the plastic ones until I'm able to control the beast.

Questions:

1. Once I put the new wishbone on, I have trouble keeping the beast going straight. It will take off and with the slightest steering input, she will spin around. It's almost uncontrollable at speeds. Need help. Camber or toe adjustments maybe?

2. Since I have 3 Trugggys, I doubt I'll put this on the dirt track so I plan to put some street tires on this and eat up a few Jato's. Any recommendation on tires and settings?

3. Any definite "lessons learned" about this truck. Since it's been around a while, I'd love to tap into this info.

4. Manuals...the schumacher website the manual but it's set up so you can only download 1 page at a time. Is there somewhere that we can download the entire manual and diagram at one time?

Thanks

I have a Menace on its way. Not much support out there. I'm also interested in any must have hop ups.

i just purchased a menace too for $ 100.00 and had to fix a few things the rear dog bone and the one way roto start. The motor looks beat but i'm trying to tune it. This week is a rainy one so i have to wate for the next nice day to take it out and tune it. I am one of those jato owners i got a jato 3.3 that i replaced the 3.3 engine and put a O.S. .12tz spec 2 turbo engine that sticks with the 4-tecs.

I'm thinking of upgrading the engine already. Mine is new in the original box. I'm thinking maybe I can get something for the engine since its new. I'm wondering what .21s people are running in these.

You can put the .28 in the Menace. Going that much faster on dirt will be that much harder to control, it might take some driving practice.

Yes the Picco will fit into the Menace but you will also need the engine mounts. You should also upgrade the clutch (the standard 2 shoe is too weak for the .21), which will mean a new flywheel, clutch shoes/springs and pinion. http://www.wolfpackradicals.com/ makes all the gear you need, you need to e-mail him for purchases.
He also makes wheel adapters for the Menace that will enable you to fit foams as I see you use it on road.

Also worth getting a proper exhaust and running it down the side and maybe some shorter shocks....Really the list of mods is endless, how deep are your pockets?

Went to wolfpacks site. No sales info. It says Bruckner hobbies sells his stuff but no listings on their site. This really sucks. I want to put a picco in this thing and cant find any info anywhere. By the way I would sell my TT.21 with pipe and clutch. New never ran cheap if I find a way to mount something else.

Step 1- Join the Schumacher froum (link above)

Step 2- Search the Schumacher froum in both the Off Road and On Road sections for information on the Menace 21 and Menace Gtr.

Step 3- Email Wolf with your requirements/querys. (his e-mail address as found on above site: [email protected] )
