Default 500mm Scratch Built EDF35 Wing

Hello All, I am new to wings. So, I wanted to build a trainer for myself to learn how to build and fly wings. Here is what I got:

-500mm wingspan
-I used foamboard with balsa reinforcements.
-I used a 35mm EDF (I have so many EDFs laying around, that's why...)
-Radiolink radio
-cc3d for stabilization

I am testing with different capacity batteries to get an understanding of the optimum setup and flight times. Below are some of the results:

Weight MAH Flight Time
123g 400 +6min
136g 500 +7min
143g 800 +9min
169g 1000 to be tested

I am pretty sure I will be +10min with 1000MAH but we will see after the test. I believe these are pretty decent flight times but would probably better with a prop?

It's really easy and fun to fly and glides beautifully. Here is a video of a slow and low flight with nive close-ups.

Thanks

Last test with 1000MAH was done today. Quite a windy day, so its fun to watch the unit continuously correct against wind.

This flight pointed to +11m flight time with 1000MAH setup. Pretty decent for a tiny EDF unit.

Weight MAH Flight Time
123g 400 +6min
136g 500 +7min
143g 800 +9min
169g 1000 +11min

Keeping on practicing, tuning. Punched it a little more this time. Really easy to fly and pretty fast. will start FPV practices when I feel comfortable enough.

Installed a tiny cam

Improving the unit to make it more reliable.

- R6DS radio was cutting off from time to time, even in close distance. So, replaced that with R12DSM which claim to have 4km air range.
- 25mw Eachine FPV cam was cutting off frequently. Now replaced with a 200mw Eachine FPV cam.

Short flight to test the new hardware. Turned out to be pretty good and I felt much more confident with the new setup. I can stay practicing FPV tomorrow

The first practice. Standing at a higher point in the park to make sure I don't lose the signal. There is a little flickering when the unit reached the far side of the park but most likely due to the trees and other structures between us. So far so good!

At last I was able to do my first inav FPV flight with my tiny EDF wing. The OSD is awesome. Inav has come a long way from Multiwii days that we had to use FTDI boards to flash and I2C boards for GPS I switched over to cruise and pos hold for very short periods just to make sure they are functional. RTH and failsafe are also set and ready to test. And yes I currently fly in angle mode as I am new to the wings...
-Foamboard 500mm wingspan, 35mm edf, 20a esc, 1000mah 2s lipo, rd12ds RX, Foxeer micro FPV cam, OP GPS, Eachine 200mw VTX, fatshark goggles with eachine DVR... All parts except the RX and Lipo were laying around from older projects and this wing costed me pretty much nothing. Great trainer and so much fun...
