Two years ago, my modeler friend started to build the DC-3 / LI-2 / ЛИ-2 model scale M1:5.
He plans to build this model for another 5-6 years.
I help him with the CAD drawings.

Sometimes, I upload pictures of the project.

At least,two ZG-62 petro engines,but he doesn’t know exactly.
When,we started this project the Dave Johnson’s Dakota DC-3 scale 20%. inspired us.

I was at Budaőrs Airfield ( LHBS ) where I met Mr.Károly ” Fedő ” Hajdu,the founder of the Goldtimer Foundatioan
( http://www.goldtimer.hu/li2-a.html ).
He was very helpful,showed me the Li-2 (HA-LIX) and he told me the story of the restoration of the Li-2 plane.
I took severaral pictures,all of which I am going to show you in this topic.

Jozsef nice progress!
Are you covering front fuselage with balsa or some other hard wood? I like the carbon top cockpit!! Saves a lot of time and sanding!!!

My work is easier than my friend’s making the CAD drawing.

My friend, the model builder is a PPG car painter. Fortunately, he has a lot of work, but unfortunately, he has too little spare time to build this model.

The nose part of the fuselage is covered by 3x5mm spruce slats.
The main part of the fuselage will be covered by 3mm balsa sheets.
