Default Fokker DR1 plan in Australia

Hi,

I am looking for a Fokker DR1 plan around 60-80" wingspan.

The catch is that I would like to get it from some where in Australia

The reason is that other plan sellers in the US want to fold the plans up for posting whreas I would rather have them sent in a tube.

I was originally interested in the Nick Ziroli plan but am now not sure due to the folding issue.

So can anyone that can tell me where I can get such a plan?

Thanks.

The folks that now own Cleveland plans will mail them rolled

Here's thier Dr-I

Trouble is virtually all of these plans are for a 3/16 inch scale ff rubber plane enlarged to the size you want. They need to be beefed up in the nose to handle an IC engine.

I got a set of DR1 plans from Ziroli, and they were rolled and mailed in a mailing tube, not folded. It has been several years ago, so this may have changed, but I have gotten other Ziroli plans and they were all rolled. Maybe the folding has something to do with overseas shipments?

The international shipping is the reason that they fold and not roll them. I may look into paying more for postage (already $30-40US) to get it rolled in a tube.

Brenton,

I produce kits for the Ziroli Triplane.

I think you should call them again and explain what you want! If you do not get satisfaction from that, I can include the plans in one of my kits, rolled.

If you call Ziroli plans, talk to Dianne.

Thanks Mace.

I dont think it will be an issue to get the plans sent rolled up, it just costs more in postage.

I have been speaking to Diane regarding this. The only thing that I think could be communicated better is actual shipping costs as I have only been given a range and I would like to know exactly what it is going to cost me up front before I place the order.

I will have another chat with her and see how I go

BTW, is the picture of the DR1 on your website under "Our Workers" the 63" version from the Ziroli plans?
