Default CNC Foam cutter

Hi,

Looking for URLs to websites on CNC Hot wire foam cutters. Also looking for US suppliers for home / hobbyists.

I have seen most of the Euro websites, but can't seem to find much here at home. Is all the CNC foam cutting action happening overseas?

Well I hope this will help you out:

http://www.rcfaq.com/

There is some great info about foam, cutting, CNC, etc. There are also some very useful links to other web sites that have plans and kits for the CNC cutters.
When I browsed through it a couple of weeks ago, I seen on one of the links a kit for a couple of hundred and that gave you the motors, plans, and most of the things needed to build your own cutter. I've been thinking about this also. If you do buy it, let me know.

Thanks,

Kelvin.

I'm not sure what your wanting done but go to this site.

D.C. Models www.dcmodelshop.com

He can cut just about any foam/wood/plastic core you want.
He is also getting a newer and larger machine.
I recently saw a 7' long F117A Sleath he made for static display(nice). He also made a mold of it to produce a fiberglass version that will use 2 turbines.

Check him out......

Default Who sells these Step Four-s?

Mike,
I'm just wondering how much are those CNC cutters by Step Four? Who sells them in the US?

Following up to my own posting...

I have found an incredible source of information on creating your own CNC foam cutting equipment. Software (shareware), airfoil design, controllers and simple, build at home equipment. My only issue is it is all in French and my high school French is long forgotten. But if you are interested in CNC for the home shop (as I am), check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/decoupecnc/

Boris,
I don't know who the U.S. distributors may be as I live in Thailand. Price was around $ 2000. You can contact Step Four at the website posted earlier and inquire about dealers.
