Default Hinges

I am scratch building a 25% Edge 540. Sheeted foam wing and a fiberglass fuselage. What is a good rule to follow for installing hinges? I am interested in how many per control surface, or how far apart two should be before installing another etc. I will probably be using Robart hinges for this. The steel pin type. Should I use the 1/8 or 3/16 diameter size?

Use the 3/16" Robarts, the 1/8 would be a bit small for a plane that size. I would use 5 per aileron, 4 in each elevator half and 4 in the rudder.
