It is a Vinyl Express RII series, got it on Amazon sold by Signwarehouse in Denton Tx. I have done business with them for years, the plotter/cutter has a few quirks but nothing that can't be worked thru, I have owned a few Roland plotters/cutters in the past but for the price I paid for this one I can't complain. If you decide to get one right after you unpack it make sure the three wheels are in the tracks, seems that UPS has a tendency to smak them around a bit, that and one minor adjustment in software and it works, also it is 31" wide with work area of 27 3/4" wide. Great for printing plans

I have a Roland Camm 1 24" and an old tank Ioline Stidio 8 30" both love to draw RC plans just great. Heads up for you guys looking for cheap plan printers. Vinyl cutters cost a bit more but you can use old pen type plotter engineering printers. These pen plotters cost far less money then cutters if all you want to do is print on paper to make plans for building planes. Sometimes engineering firms buy new faster modern printers and will give away the older ones for little to nothing. Check out E-bay too.

STICKTICKLER, you are 100% right about not needing to spend money for a cutter, the only reason I got the one I have was two fold. 1st it was so cheap it was almost given away, came with stand, software, tons of material to do drawings or cut. 2nd I still do vinyl graphics, not on the scale I did in the 90's but it is a way to pickup a little extra money that can be spent on our hobby. Found that on AMAZON you can get a 31" cutter/plotter for as little as $300.00 and the one I got was brand new, what I expected was a re-furbished or returned item.

I clicked on the link given but the plans come out so small I can't read them. Is there another link to the PDF? I'd like to see the improvements you have made.

I love Sticks!

The closest Ugly Stick build I've done lately is an LaStick that I scratch built back in June. My next one is an .09 size Stick with quad flaps. The wing ribs are cnc cut and the fuse sides are cut. I plan to start the build in the next couple of weeks.
Here is a pic of my LaStick.

Hi,
i know its an old thread but i just found while looking for plans to build an ugly stick.
Jason quite remarkable job you've done here. Is it possible to send me the dxf files or a pdf 1:1?
Also for what i can see the ribs are 1/16 balsa?

There are other newer sources of Ugly Stik plans. Try Outerzone and also do a search for Phil Kraft on the home page of Outerzone as it brings up various other of his plans too. those plans show 1/8 inch ribs.

I have most of the parts cut out to build from these plans, but I have a couple of projects ahead of it. I hope to get started on the stick soon.

I will try to show the build, but I usually get caught up in the build and forget to take pictures.

Thanks Jason, I really enjoyed you video and found encouraging after I crashed my plane. Gave me a plan to go about the repair. Almost back flying now, so thanks.

When I got back into RC, Jason’s Ugly Stik was the first airplane I built. I just used a computer printout and drew the lines I needed for the build. I first planned on a gas engine then changed to glow. This really messed up my C.G. I had to move things around. I still haven’t done the maiden. Thought this year would be it; but no. WS at TE 64”, Fuselage, firewall to rudder hinge line 48”.

Good of luck with your build.

Your plane looks great. I am looking to make mine electric powered hopefully. I hope your maiden flight goes to plan, you have done a great job on it!

Default Airfoil detail plz

Hey bud, I like what I see and would dearly like to build your version. However, your web link is broken so we can't access your details nor can we download your plan.
Assistance with this will be much appreciated

Cheers
