RE: Predator b UAV build 1/5 scale rc
Well the program I used to design the plane was an O-MAX 2d cad program for the O-MAX waterjet machines I run here at work. The program is more cad than cam like cnc programs, but it works for what I need. I basicaly inserted a 3-view pic of the plane into the program, cleaned it up, and made it to scale-ish dimentions(inches), and cut out the plane on the waterjet. sort of like a router table, just with 50,000ksi of water and sand. How ever i turned the pressure way down to around 20,000ksi. So, there you have it... If you do have more questions, I am always willing to answere with info I know. Hope this helps..

Allright!!!!!!!! This weekend I will finaly be able to clear out my build room and throw all that crap into the storage building!!! Working on the second building, but with Tulsa weather being all skrewed up as it has been, that build will pause for a while.... So once all is out of the room, I can move into it with the plane and pieces and resume the build.!!... Will keep posted on the soon-to-come progress and pics.

Flybaby,
Did you design this in CAD? If you did would you be willing to scale it down to a 40-45" fuse so that I can have the parts laser cut. I would gladly pay you for the work and CAD draawings. Thanks..

Alright... For those following like caster and others, should you think that all the pages you've read, and pics you've seen, reguarding the built up plans, meet your requirements for how the plane should be, than let me know. I know some might not like the way the plane has been scaled and/or mis preportioned in area's, as I designed this sucker for my own use and ease of understanding of how to build in my head. I've never designed an r/c plane before let alone built one from scratch as I'm doing. But it works for me. So!!! to the point.......... If you would like the plans I have drawn up for this plane and want a copy of them either in current size or modified scalings of its size( shorter wings or longer fus..etc..) I will let go of my pride and let others try it for them selves. How ever!! I lay no claim that the plane when built is airworthy, as the first plane from the built-up design, isn't even out of the molds or flying yet!! Nor will the plans have placement of servo's or gear or CG. It would be a build for you to figure out for your self what would work correctly and where. The plans I have done will have rib/spar numbers and "map" to where the parts go, but thats it. so, if you'd like to give it a try, than go for it.
I am offering the plans in any size ratio to the original. No arf's right now and not pre cut. just my built up( to be lazer cut your self) plans. But please don't go selling what I've gifted to you, or pawn it off as your own. This is one hobbyest helping out others, and that respect would be appreciated. So, there u have it. p.s. sorry the build is so slow... stupid buzy, and suddenly my carpentry skills are needed all over the place! plus holidays too. Merry Christmas to everyone and have a great New Year!!

The " Wolf Mobile" !!. The one of many other projects that keep me from the build.. As I posted before, lots of work to get it where I want it to be, and going from a people carying van, to wolf carrying van takes alot. Windows need to come out and sheet metal welded in its place, and interior cages and a/c done, and wood paneling made for inner walls.... more body work.... paint sceme(70's)... The mags finished pollishing... side pipes... front lip... yea... too buzy!!!!!!![:@]

Got the Build room done and benches in and shelving up and ready to continue with the build. But!!! As I layed the wings down on my 3'x8' bench( main bench) I realized that it wasn't flat enough!!! Need a realy true flat surface to make my molds true, and streight. [:@] But, that's not too big of a problem.. Ordered a full 1/4" sheet of 3'x8' glass to place over my bench. Should be in on monday.. So much work has gone into this so far, there isn't any reason to skimp on the quality. " Do it once and do it right-the first time"!!!!! So.. when the glass is in, and on the binch, I'll show the pics of the room finaly ready to continue on with the build!!!

Flybaby,
I apologize, I have been so busy with life and work I have lost contact with you. your Buildings are looking great!!! As well as that super sweet paintjob idea for the van . Great minds think alike right. I am still wanting to get a set of plans for you... If at all possible I would love to have a 6 ft wing span version of you plans. I dont know the ratio as I havent taken the time to do the math. But if you shrink your plan down to exaclty a 6 foot wingspan the whole model should scale correctly. I would also LOVE to get them on a CD rom, if at all possible. I would more then happily pay you for the shipping and CD and your time. Please let me know, you can contact me via email or by phone @ 419-528-9507. thanks, one more ?, what would the file format be? thanks!
