Tequila bipe by Chuck Cunningham
Hi everybody,
I bought these plans from RCM some time ago, knowing that Chuck made some great designs ( Lazy Ace, Miss Texas), honest, well-designed sports planes. Did anybody here build the Tequila? What power did you use? Any comments in general, or experiences?
I hope I am not the only one who bought half a balsa tree to rip up and build this great looking bipe out of it!
Kris

Too bad nobody seems to know this beautiful plane. The build is going slowly but steadily, with the tail feathers as good as complete, and the fuse complete except for the rounded top. If anybody is interested, i'll post some pics.
I am still not sure what to power this one with. I got a NIB ST2300 and a gasser MVVS 160. I want to fly this one a lot, so fuel economy is making me think more towards the gasser.

Kris,
Just wondering if you're still around and any updates on the Tequila. I bought the plans a few months ago and am now ordering wood for it. My lord, there's a lot of 1/4' thick balsa in there! I'm going over tha plans figuring where to shed weight- I'm planning on electric power.
Take care,
Tom

hi everybody,
Good to see somebody from Europe who has built the Tequila. It just looked such a great plane to me. Indeed, tons of wood in it, but it is suprisingly light eventually. I have the fuselage framed up, top wing is 90% finished, and I am rebuilding the lower one because the first one is crooked. I must have made the ribs too inaccurate, and forced the spars in too much. There is too little sheeting to keep the whole structure from warping. I am trying out foam ribs right now, first time i do this, hoping to cut some balsa cost.
Best regards,
Kris
