Need a Balsa Supplier
I'm going to be starting a short kit soon, 74" Grumman Goose, and of course need balsa. I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of a good balsa supplier. I typically use eBay and end up with Midwest which is fine but I'm hoping there's a less expensive source.

National Balsa is one of the better suppliers nowadays.

National Balsa is one of the bigger names: Nat Balsa
Then there's Balsa USA: Balsa USA There are others but I can't think of them now. I use National Balsa usually. Quality is good. Remember, quality can cost. Balsa comes in a great many grades most of which are best suited for specific purposes on a model. You can go with the cheaper stuff and probably get away with it for the most part. But working with quality wood makes the build process that mush more enjoyable. |
I forgot about national balsa thanks - I guess its been a while since my last build. BUSA prices seem a little high. Ever hear of Balsa Wood, Inc.? Cheap prices but what grade balsa is it?

National Balsa I believe cuts their own. I'll be ordering a Hostetler short kit from them in a month so we'll see how the quality is. |
